ENERGY: Bush declared the United States must kick its addiction to oil. OK.

But didn't Vice President Dick Cheney invite oil and other energy executives and lobbyists to co-author the administration's policy? The White House has kept their recommendations secret, but here's a hint: the industry guys probably didn't suggest using less oil and gasoline.

The administration has pushed to start oil production in the Arctic wildlife refuge, the Rockies and just about any place valued as either scenic or environmentally crucial.
