Loving Ted Kennedy - he's earned that standing ovation at CSK's funeral
Love that he evoked a standing ovation just by walking to the podium. And Bush had to stand and clap for him.

"The moral arc of the universe is long, but it bends toward justice."
Martin Luther King

5. Yes - and his presence reminds everyone of the legacy he and his
brothers left and that it was the rabble rousers like Dr. King and liberals like the Kennedys who worked together to change our society - and it was people like Bush, his father (who voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Act) and their ilk who stood in our way.

4. Ted Kennedy has carried the liberal banner
probably longer than the average poster here has been alive. He has been unwavering--a Democrat with a spine, unlike many now masquerading as Dems. Bravo Ted Kennedy!!!

7. He's the man!
He could be sitting back on his laurels, living off his family name and fortune and generally having a pretty cushy life.

But instead, our liberal Lion gets up every single day, heads to his Senate office, and works his hardest to make the world a better place.

To paraphrase a line from To Kill a Mockingbird: "There are some men in the world who were born to do our unpleasant jobs for us. Ted Kennedy is one of them."

Love him.

6. it all comes around
I was outside the GA state capital when MLK, Jr. cortege passed. I was so excited to see Robert Kennedy at the front of the line that I shouted out "Bobby" and clapped. I was immediately confronted by one of the King members keeping order and told to keep quiet, to be respectful. I was humiliated. But today I was overjoyed to see blacks and whites at Coretta's funeral sharing laughter and clapping. We HAVE come a long way thanks to both the Kings and the Kennedys.

9. Lovely thought . . .
That reminds me of something historian Roger Wilkins said. He spoke of how devastated African Americans were after Dr. King's assassination. But, he said, people still held out hope. "At least we still have Bobby," they said. "And then before we knew it, Bobby was gone, too, and we had no where to turn."

So sad. Nearly 40 years later and it's still breaks my heart.

It's almost too painful to think about.

Him and John. Than I wonder if we would have had Carter or Clinton to come around and be president's. Especially since John inspired Clinton.

Wasn't he such the cutest thing?

14. yes...and every June 6th, the pigmedia ignore Bobbie
they usually are flatulent over D-Day (after all, it was 62 years ago) but just the fact that the pigmedia doesn't mention Bobby's murder on June 6th 1968 says they are a reactionary media, as far from a 'liberal' media as you can get...

And sometimes they do forget John's. :( I think it was either last year or year before they didn't even mention it. I never forget either of them.

15. And now there's Wes Clark
Not since Bobby Kennedy have I been as inspired by a public figure as I have been inspired by Wes Clark. It is time for the honor and integrity that this National Treasure represents.

His entire life has been inspiring. A true man of integrity, class and grace. Teresa would have been an incredible first lady too.

25. Definitely Kerry here too
His entire life has been inspiring. A true man of integrity, class and grace. Teresa would have been an incredible first lady too. (She would have more connection to Mrs King than Laura- as she marched against arpartheid in South Africa as a college student.)
