Cartoons and King funeral provide massive smokescreens for trials... |
|
Certainly Coretta Scott King deserves everybit of media coverage she is getting on the day of her burial.
Certainly those people who feel maligned by the Press's release of derogatory cartoons deserve the attention they are getting.
But if you noticed, the stories are being dragged out by the main stream media, alleging that politics should not have been mentioned at the King funeral and that the Muslims should not react so strongly to what is an apparent move to distract America's attention once again.
Come on, Abramof and Enron's Ken Lay are on trial. If they don't fill up the airwaves and newsprint with the cartoons and with the Policitical statements they just might have to write about the trials.
BTW, the msm needs to stop telling other people how to behave. That is a world of professional sluts, whores and pimps.

1. This trial is expected to last 4 months |
|
I share your outrage about the media whores and my brother was with Enron for over 30 years (before they were Enron, before Ken Lay and Skilling) He lost about a mil in pension. I think we have at least 4 months to be in their face. I am sickened by the attitude about the funeral too.

2. It's a losing proposition for the Bad Guys |

Ms. King can only die once. She has passed, and deserves the nation's gratitude and mourning. But the news cycle will leave her in peace, probably in the usual nine-day run.
The cartoons aren't just a smokescreen, but also a way to demonize Muslims. Until the next high-profile trial of some Euro-knucklehead who claims that the Holocaust never happened. Then, having a higher-profile debate about Freedom of Speech and tolerating knuckleheads, our own press (currently in regression over FoS issues) will back away from it for fear of reflecting badly on Team Bush and their cronies.
Abramoff's Tale is just at its beginning. In order to keep his pampered ass out of the hoozegow for the next century and a half, Abramoff has chosen to roll like a turd in a filthy toilet. Not only will this drama play out through the Election period, it will play out far past 2008. That's why the Mighty Wurlitzer of the Right-Wing Press is so keen on tarring Democrats with the same brush. And it's been failing badly, if you'll notice.
Ken Lay is a small potatoe compared to what's coming in energy news. As we tread the bumpy plateau of "Peak Oil", there will be enough public pain for force all the petrocrats out into the open. And thus will end our age.
If it sometimes appears to us like reality is being bent and twisted through the Devil's Prism, keep in mind that we're political wonks. We see things through our own amped-up perspectives. It gives us much insight, but there are also pitfalls and perceptual errors we are prone to. The Real World doesn't care if O'Reilly or Tweety or anyone else tells it how to think and act. But the Real World will force the politically inert to pay $3 per gallon of gas this Spring and maybe as much as $5 this Summer.

not worthy of speaking at such an occasion, even if those who cause those injustices are present.

The riots in the middle east are the biggest story in the world right now. They're getting massive coverage in every country. And Abramoff isn't on trial at the moment. There won't be a trial. He plead guilty. As for Ken Lay, I hardly see the other stories as being a distraction
