King Funeral:Imus: Time to gin up some outrage
First: Read this at DailyKos

Yes, Imus has weighed in on proper funeral etiquette this morning, i.e., condemning those who would dare celebrate Coretta Scott King's life at her funeral. He's shocked I tell you, shocked!

I guess I haven't been to enough funerals to understand the format. I would have thought that if the friends of a soldier killed in Iraq stood up at that soldier's funeral and mentioned that the deceased supported the Iraq Debacle, and that that soldier was proud to have died in a cause he believed in, that that would be appropriate. I would have thought that if the friends of someone killed in 9/11 stood up at that person's funeral and mentioned 9/11, that that would be appropriate.

Second:write Imus at msnbc imus@msnbc.com and ask him who the hell he thinks he is, telling the King family how to celebrate Mrs. King's life.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

4. Outrage, aye!
"Mr. Imus,

I totally agree with you! It is just so completely inappropriate to
mention what the deceased stood for so proudly in her life, especially if
that is contrary with the popular politics of the ruling junta of the day.
Not the popular will of the People, mind you, Mr. Imus, just the noise of
the organs of the State, including you, you vile piece of detritus.

Most disrespectfully,
Acmejack"

5. Funny thing about Imus, when Reagan dropped dead he was on his show
Saying america lost a great man and how Reagan was a saint. Also he had no problem with republicans talking about all the great things Ronnie did for the country. In fact Imus agreed with 90% of what was said about Reagan's presidency. Good old double standard Imus, no wonder Howard hates him so much, what a jerk.BTW, when the ones in power won't let the minority speak then what better place to speak out and get your message out.

10. So...
...is Imus saying that at his funeral, he wants to make sure no one makes vaguely racist and homophobic jokes and that no one comes bearing a bitter, grumpy demeanor? So when IS it appropriate to talk about someone's lifes work at their funeral?

"Here lies Jack Abramoff. A tireless crusader for the big guy, not afraid to jilt an Indian tribe or two..."

"Here lies Ken Lay. A greedy stupid fuck who enjoyed employing people that likes to 'stick it to grannie' by artificially jacking up rates..."

"Today we morn the passing of Karl Rove. Karl spent his entire life getting revenge on the cool kids that teased him in school by fucking with everyone's lives, abusing power and damaging our nations security for partisan political gain..."

"Ron Buckethead was a hard working man, he.." oh, wait, might wax blue-collar unionish, nixie on the eulogai...

When a doctor dies, do they refrain from talking about his work as a doctor at his memorial?

I mean, seriously, who the fuck do these whackjobs think they are? I didn't bomb the damn building when they ran the Reagan memorial slobber-fest for 10 days straight. I didn't go on the 26-7 news channels and bitch and moan for twice as long as the memorial lasted.

FUCK IMUS

12. Local talk radio had a Fox News reporter on talking about the "behaviour"
They likened it to the Wellstone funeral which apparently cost Mondale the Senate seat....according to them

WRVA in Richmond Va. local morning idiot->Glenn Beck-> Rush-> local afternoon idiot ->Hannity->Savage

14. Yes greatly diminished
Want to know the next topic---should real estate agents have to tell you if a heinous crime had been committed in a house you are looking at?

Apparently this Fox News guy was just on to make sure that all the loyal WRVA listeners ;-) got the last word on this.

Sad-my wife and I watched most of it last night. It was very nice. The only thing I saw this morning was W speaking and a voice over while Bill and Hillary were on the screen.
