WHEW! Haley Barbour is NOT running for President
Thank GOD what would the people of Mississippi done with out him?

Miss. Governor Won't Run for President
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060208/ap_on_re_us/barbour_future_5

JACKSON, Miss. - Republican Gov. Haley Barbour said Tuesday he will not run for president in 2008 because he is too busy with Hurricane Katrina's aftermath.

Instead, Barbour, 58, said he intends to seek a second term as governor in 2007.

"There's no way I could run for president and do what I've got to do as governor. And, obviously, being governor comes first," said the former GOP national chairman, responding to questions from The Associated Press.

Barbour also dismissed the possibility of a run for vice president in 2008

3. Getting all those new casinos up and running takes most of his time
I couldn't help but notice that every time he was interviewed on the news right after Katrina hit, he was always talking about the damage to casinos and need to rebuild them right away. That seemed to be his overriding concern.

5. Casinos = tax revenue and jobs
Like it or not, the gaming industry is a big industry in Mississippi. The state took a huge revenue hit when the casinos on the coast were wiped out. And more importantly, a lot of people lost jobs. And the destruction of the casinos has had a ripple effect in the state's economy -- tourism comes to mind. Of course it's important to get them back up and running.

6. americans want fake or slight southern accents in a president
not a serious drawl like barbour.

plus, he doesn't look like someone i'd like to have a beer with. since i don't like beer or people, that's easy for me to say.
