Hey karl, see what happens when you don't control the audience
Coretta Scott King's funeral was attended by grieving and respectful Americans unscreened by the republican hate machine. And by golly look what happened. But rove has his machine cranked up today with all the fake outrage on the airwaves. "Conservatives" must have their marching orders and talking points tatooed on their asses.

There is only one American who should be ashamed about anything that was said at the funeral yesterday - george bush, but he has no conscience, therefore there is no shame.

1. But it's shocking to see the lengths they will go to trash the service
because it didn't fit into their agenda. Make no mistake about it, the media was speaking for the White House. Doing what Bush could not do. Lash out at those he disagrees with.

2. Yep. It's amazing how the corporate media
is attempting to protect their boy king. Nothing offensive was said at the funeral. No one openly berated the boy king. It's the Repugs and their toady media that is "reading between the lines" of the speakers yesterday.

They simply told the truth. Poor George, they may have hurt his feelings.:nopity:

3. That's right
I have a feeling after reading some threads on the funeral that some people with right wing agendas are out to try and change our minds about this!

I will not be defensive about how the funeral went, which is what the neocons want us to be.

6. Neocons make stumbling blocks with every step they take.
What happened yesterday was heavenly!
M.L. King Jr. and Coretta King left steppingstones.

A Bag Of Tools

By: R. L. Sharpe

Isn't it strange That princes and kings,

And clowns that caper In sawdust rings,

And common people Like you and me

Are builders for eternity?

Each is given a bag of tools,

A shapeless mass, A book of rules;

And each must make - Ere life is flown -

A stumbling block Or a steppingstone.

4. IMHO
the only ones who have any say about what happened at the funeral are the children of Coretta Scott King. If they are okay with it, anyone who feels otherwise should respect their wishes & shut up.

5. Exactly, WolverineDG.....
Whoever is "commenting" on the issue has no standing. The immediate family has the only say.

Hell, the chimp should be grateful he was allowed to attend. Fuck them RW radio asshats!

7. Mrs. King's funeral was electric! The yin-yang of it was absolutely
Edited on Wed Feb-08-06 10:51 AM by higher class
the most beautiful free gift I've received in a long time. The contrast of this dignified lady and the magically exuberant tributes of people who honored her was an event that I will never forget. Though dignified, her life was focused and every one who spoke kept on focus in their own way. Her life success deserved traditional and untraditional tributes according to the talents, unique personalities, and the seriousness of the mission to work and pursue and never forget how much still has to be done.

Political? YEESSSSS! She was political. She lost her husband because of politics. He left a legend of politics. She carried out his and her life in politics. THE POLITICS OF JUSTICE!

Her own daughter was political. Her close relatives, pastors, and friends.

There are only sour destroyers who would try to make crap out of it.

You can tell the honored one is great when the right wing attempts to destroy. Wellstone. King.

So, the way, I see it, they are slamming HER. They got their last bullet in just as she is buried. They are avoiding talking about her. Honoring her. All that wasted time by big corporate networks to slam and not honor.

But they decided that they would really mess it up.

8. I BET Shrub won't ever do THAT again!
That's the first thing I thought of while I listened to the speakers. "They've been protecting his ass for sooo many years, I bet he's FREAKING over THIS!"

You can bet he went back to AF1, called Rove, and screamed "Don't you ever make me do anything like that again!"
