If you are a progressive, anyway. :)

"Camp Wellstone is a weekend-long training program that provides hands-on, practical training in grassroots politics to citizen activists, campaign workers, and people interested in running for office."

"2005 was an important year for Wellstone Action, and we’re proud of the progress we have made in such a short time. But our plans for 2006 are even more ambitious. Next year, we will conduct more than 20 Camp Wellstones, 50 Campus Camp Wellstones, and dozens of labor and voter engagement trainings. We are bringing our work to a large national scale so that we can meet the growing demand for effective, practical training for the progressive movement.

We’re growing fast, but strategically. We will focus our work in eight targeted states: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Arizona, Washington, and North Carolina. All of these states, with the exception of North Carolina, are also targeted by one of our partner organizations, Progressive Majority. We’ve formed a close alliance with Progressive Majority and collaborate with them to put on trainings. Progressive Majority recruits its own candidates to attend the candidate track of Camp Wellstone, and scouts for new candidates at the camp. We’re excited about this partnership – Progressive Majority does great work, and these kinds of alliances are essential for growing a coalition-based progressive movement."
