Hillary shoots, Hillary SCORES: "Republicans playing the fear card"
Please allow me to state up front that I am not a "Hillary 2008" DUer. I'm "undecided." So don't take this post as my intention to promote Ms. Clinton as a 2008 Presidential candidate. Thanks in advance.

Sen. Clinton: Republicans 'playing the fear card'

Wednesday, February 8, 2006; Posted: 3:39 p.m. EST (20:39 GMT)

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/02/08/clinton.democrats.ap/index.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday accused Republicans of "playing the fear card" of terrorism to win elections and said Democrats cannot keep quiet if they want to win in November.

The New York Democrat, facing re-election this year and considered a potential White House candidate in 2008, said Republicans won the past two elections on the issue of national security and "they're doing it to us again."

She said a speech by presidential adviser Karl Rove two weeks ago showed the GOP election message is: "All we've got is fear and we're going to keep playing the fear card."

In that speech, Rove suggested Republicans can prevail in 2006 by showing Democrats had undermined terrorism-fighting efforts by questioning Bush's authority to allow wiretapping without getting court approval first.

1. Good for her
I'm not a fan of the DLC, but several of them have found their voices lately. DiFi is another one. We need these folks with us to beat the forces of evil.

called this a losing issue.

3. Good for her!
And they managed to find a nice photo to boot! Wow!

I'm on the fence too, B_E_B... She is a smart lady and we could do worse... wait, we are doing worse!

If she is all we have come 08, I'll vote for her. Not to do so would damn us to more of the same as we have. The primary should be interesting!

Oh, yeah... Why does Hillary hate America? 9/11!! Terra! Terra! 9/11! Boogie men! Insurgents! Terra! 9/11!

:)

6. I'm not saying "no," I'm not saying "yes"...I'm saying it's 2006...
...and now is not the time to decide on a 2008 candidate.

Barack Obama was in office for what...oh, I dunno...30 SECONDS...and there were DU posts for "OBAMA 2008."

Now, I respect the freedom of speech of EVERY DUer who posted an "Obama 2008" thread. But maybe it's a great idea, and maybe it's not.

We've got too much riding on this. FIRST, let's get through the 2006 midterms.

THEN, let's pick the APPROPRIATE candidate to take back the White House in 2008.

10. Hear, hear!
It is way too early in the game and we really don't know what our choices will be. One step at a time:)

4. Voices are rising!
And people are finding them. Kudos Hillary. As far as 2008 goes, I vote on actions, not people. If Hillary keeps displaying the right actions with intent to implement the right policies, I have NO problem voting for her. I have stood against her for her actions and policies in the past, but I recognize people change.

7. The PERFECT candidate for 2008...and you heard it here FIRST...
...is the candidate that's ready to TAKE DOWN that PIG MOTHERF**KER KARL ROVE.

Because ANY Democratic candidate who's not willing to go mano-a-mano with that corrupt, bloated sack of pig excrement...

WILL...NOT...WIN.

Anyone who disagrees with that, I respect your opinion.

We'll see who's right.

"If Hillary keeps displaying the right actions with intent to implement the right policies, I have NO problem voting for her"...

100% dead-on accurate, could-not-have-said-it-better-myself.

16. Good
Bout time she stops pandering to the Republican lite crowd. Maybe she can steer clear of the flag burning protection nonsense she was trying to sell.

Clinton said a convention of United Auto Workers that Democrats should not be afraid to question Bush's handling of the war.
