MANCHESTER, N.H. --
Protesters aired a variety of gripes Wednesday across the street
from a hotel where President Bush delivered a speech on the economy.
Diane Swasey, 72, of Manchester, didn't have to prepare the sign she
was holding, which said, "Read My Lips, No More False Promises."
She she keeps it in her car to be ready.
"I would tell him to please get the message from the people.
Get an exit strategy from Iraq," she said.
She and about two dozen others carried messages on topics from the war
to student loans, which will have higher interest charges under Bush's
proposed budget.
The budget was a popular subject of editorials in morning newspapers.
Several expressed deep skepticism about Bush's plans for reducing federal
budget deficits. "The deficit reduction Bush touts is largely a fiction,"
the New Hampshire Union Leader's editorial said.
"His budget does not include spending on Iraq and Afghanistan, and it
absurdly assumes that Congress will restrain spending in the next few years."
The Telegraph of Nashua said Bush's goal of cutting the deficit in half
by 2009 "sounds much too good to be true,"
while the Portsmouth Herald predicted the fallout from Bush's budget and
tax cuts will be around to trouble "our grandchildren's children."<--Snip

The funny part about this is just before Bush arrived to make his speech;
as reported on local Boston ABC news; the invited guests republicans were
listening to loud music.
They had to cut it short as the 'Rrezi-dunce'arrived.
What was the song they were playing?

"The Thrill is Gone" by B.B. King!!

The thrill is gone
The thrill is gone away
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away
You know you done me wrong baby
And you’ll be sorry someday

The thrill is gone
It’s gone away from me....

During the speech, when Junior spoke of cutting the deficit,
they all clapped. When he said he was cutting medicaid?
There was dead silence in the room!
