Republicans Are Revolting (in more ways than one)
Whether electoral politics in action or an epidemic of sanity, the ranks of the as yet unindicted are falling out - Over everything from research, Medicare, and education cuts, to spying and Iraq policy. Some who usually whimper in protest (Snowe, Specter, Hagel, Chafee) are being joined by other Lockstep Lieutenants (Warner, Alexander, Domenici, Wilson).

Then there's Hagel, who must be bucking for a gig at The Nation or the DNC:

Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.) pronounced himself "a bit amused" by Vice President Cheney's concession that he'd be "willing to listen" to Congress about the surveillance program. "He's got a very skewed misunderstanding of the Constitution," Hagel told The Washington Post's Charles Babington. "It doesn't work that way. The Congress is a co-equal branch of government. . . . So to arrogantly say, 'We're willing to listen to them,' that's not good enough."

1. Hagel, the former CEO of ES&S
He speaks freely because he has a voting machine company behind him, and has nothing to fear from Rove
