DeLay denies Abramoff, turns to "Limbaugh" conservatives for money
Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas), in a new letter to thousands of GOP voters in his district, has denied having close ties to former lobbyist Jack Abramoff, writing that it was “absolutely untrue” that the two were “close personal friends.”
....
In addition, DeLay has shaken up his campaign team. Chris Homan, who ran Rep. Pete Sessions’ (R-Texas) campaign against former Rep. Martin Frost (D-Texas) last cycle, has taken over as campaign manager from DeLay’s daughter, Danielle DeLay Ferro. Ferro is now deputy campaign manager.
....
With rumors about potential indictments stemming from the Abramoff probe by the Justice Department, at least some of which center on former DeLay aide Tony Rudy, official Washington is nervous about what will happen next. “No one knows what the next shoe to drop is going to be,” said a top House Republican leadership aide. “He’s not radioactive, not yet, but if there are indictments handed down, then it will be tough to be seen with him.”

DeLay, instead, will turn to “Rush Limbaugh” conservatives, movement conservatives.

Maybe they'll give him one of those "bootstrap" lectures and send him on his way. ;)

I wonder if Danielle's demotion was accomanied by a pay cut........Nah!

They certainly look like friends-

"When one of my closest and dearest friends, Jack Abramoff, your most able representative in Washington, D.C., invited me to the islands, I wanted to see firsthand the free-market success and the progress and reform you have made" -Tom DeLay's Saipan New Year's toast, 1997

1. DeLay, instead, will turn to “Rush Limbaugh” conservatives
“Rush Limbaugh” conservatives aka stupid people who will buy anything.

True Story ...... i had to sue somebody ...... long story but my attorney told
me when doing jury selection he sometimes would ask if anybody was listened
to good old Rush ..... if they said yes ...... he would d.q. them in a heartbeat ....
never just repugs but rush listeners ...... because as he said their minds were closed
and they would not listen to facts.

2. They might bail him out, but the lie in this letter is SUCH an obvious one
An ad or two with these conflicting quotes *should* penetrate the thickest skulls.
