I know not to ask a "conservative" because he would lie to me; lying must be genetic amongst "conservatives." I recall the incredible angst of the religiously insane about the president and how he was forcing them to their knees, shoving oral sex down their throats, making them choke and gag on his indiscretion. To listen to right wing hate machine President Clinton invented oral sex. But, the alcoholic, military deserter and corporate criminal lies because he wants to go to war and play Army, breaks the federal law and spies on you and me and whomever the fuck he wants and how does a "conservative" react? "Whats the big deal?"

Anybody would have come to the same conclusion that he did. I am totally at a loss when it comes to explaining how someone can accept these arguments without choking on them. 14. THe Repubs thought it was appropriate to impeach a President

who didn't know enough the dodge a charging horny intern but this president-extra-legal (thanks to Tony "The Reign Maker" Scalia and his gang of 5.) violating his SWORN duty to uphold protect and defend the Constitution and respect the protections of individual liberties provided by the Bill of Rights (without which we really have no democracy) and his breaking the provisions of the FISA law - these do not constitute impeachable offenses. Cetainly Scalito, who adores the concept of the PResident as der Fuhrer, wouldn't consider these impeachable offenses.


Interesting, how the very ones who screamed about the evils of "Big Government" are so comfortable with totalitarianism when they are in control. PErhaps the first rule of politics as war for them is: when questioned or caught in something - lie, lie, lie. And when caught in a lie - deny, deny, deny that you lied. Say, "well, we believed there were WMD. I mean, this guy said there were WMD." (Yeah, a defector who the CIA, and all the real intelligence people of England, Germany and France considered of very dubious credibility and certainly NOT a sufficient basis for invading a country. Maybe this had something to do with Germany and France not being interested in Cheney's hand Puppet's adventure in IRAQ. I am reminded of a movie entitled: "They Would Be Kings". These conservatives (I prefer "consoviets") actually rely on government to pass draconian, oppressive laws to force them to adhere to the repressed morality they've embraced. If a dictatorship is what's necessary to keep everyone (particularly themselves, the sick ghouchs!) on the straight-n-narrow, so be it.

I'm convinced this is what guides their obsession with keeping gays as second-class citizens and upholding well-outdated sodomy laws.
