FYI: Elliot Spitzer is going to be President of the United States
one day. First he's going to become Governor of New York, then he's going to run, and win, the Presidency.

"The debate about a woman's right to make decisions about her reproductive health should not be about tinkering with a point here and there, or shading an argument to placate one crowd or another," Spitzer said. "It should be about courage of conviction and strength of belief."

1. I would like to see him help the upstate Dems win in NY
that would be cool.

There is no doubt that Spitzer and Clinton will win their races this year. The question becomes "how do these two help the Dems to take over the House of Representatives and the NYS Senate. NYSCD 19 is held by Sue Kelly (r). I would like to see Spitzer and Clinton work to unseat her, or any other Bush supporting elected official.

Potential Spitzer opponent, Pat Manning, supports medical marijuana. He will get my vote, if the GOP runs him. Don't worry though, I will petition / campaign for Eliot.

3. Spitzer was at the rally
to announce Kirsten Gillibrand's campaign in CD20. She is running to replace one of the worst of the repukes, John Sweeny. Sweeny was in charge of the young republicans in FL in '00, gave to DeLay. He's a real creep and she already has him scared. Was really happy to see Spitzer there with her last week in Saratoga Springs.

4. CD20 - seems winable
2006 would be a victory for me if only Gillibrand won. There is another race out west and NYSCD 19 that are also winable.

Down with Sweeny!

Spitzer and Clinton need to dump enourmous resources into NYCD 20 - that is the only way to victory.

Frankly, anything else is uncivilized...

Any Gillibrand links? :kick:

6. Here's her website
http://www.gillibrand2006.com/

Watch the little video on the right. It's really good, hope it becomes more than a web ad before the election.

I'm not totally pleased with her stance on Iraq, she's not very definitive about it and doesn't want to set any date certain for the troops to leave but hopefully she will come along at some point.

2. It's a shame
The Bush Justice Department's deliberate non-enforcement of securities laws has made it the job of a State Attorney General to prosecute securities fraud.

Fortunately for us, Mr. Spitzer is an expert at it.

10. He would be my dream Attorney General of the USA.
I'd vote for him in a heartbeat for President though. Wouldn't that be wonderful? A smart, ethical, tough as nails, competent leader. A I dreaming?

15. I second - or third that. Or fourth. Or whateverth.
I like Spitzer a lot. Talk about speaking truth to power - this guy is it!

He'd be my Attorney General, too. Or a VERY good President. Let's just say he wouldn't be in it for the robber barons (since he's spent so much time placing people like them in his cross-hairs).

13. If the race is Spitzer vs. Diebold/Seqouia/ES&S evoting machines...
He'll never make it higher than Governor.

Sorry for the pessimism, but the Democrats/Greens/Independents/Non-neocon GOP'ers have to get the electoral system fixed first.

16. Do you think people will vote for a guy named "Spitzer" for president?
I am only partly serious of course, but I do wonder about stuff like that sometimes, Americans being the shallow people they are.
