(AP Corpus Christi TX) Vice President Dick Cheney's one man mission to rid the country of the man/animal hybrid threat has been revealed. White House officials are determined to find out who leaked the information on the secret national security operation.
VP Cheney is reported to have shot a variety of the "hairy whittenton" line of man/bird hybrid in the face in an attempt to rid the US of the threat identified and highlighted in a visionary passage of President Bush's State of the Union speech. White House officials were relunctant to verify that the VP had indeed been bravely following the Presidents bold and daring leadership.
The Department of Justice has already announced an investigation into who leaked the information. "When senior administration officials are courageously trying to protect the American people and the working class ranch industry as Vice President Cheney was the last thing they need is for their cover to be blown or irresponsible accountability to be manipulated for purely political goals" a DoJ official, who requested to remain anonymous, said. Adding,"We don't want people playing politics with this issue. That hurts our efforts to keep the nation secure". Michigan Republican Pete Hoekstra issued a statement saying that even a single such news report necessitates that a Congressional inquiry should begin.
President Bush outlined the threat that he had personally identified after painstaking research into the man/animal hybrid threat. He vowed that the US could be 75% free of this threat in the next ten years. Press reports originally confused this figure with another part of his speech concerning oil dependency. White House officials stressed that their is no link between this event at the Armstrong Ranch and energy issues.
Former Georgia Senator Zell Miller, who has not been seen since the iniative was begun, was not available for comment.
