So Meet The Press confirmed something in my mind...
Pat Roberts is an A#1 nutjob. Waving his "memory pills" around, stuttering, fumbling.

1. Remember he was part of the Nixon administration...
he's lying and doing everything he can to prevent another 'watergate'.

13. Nope, not all of us.
He is a major whack job. He used to be better, this administration has brought out the worst in him but never fear, he will be reelected. We can't even mount an opposition.

4. Here's someone else that made me sick, Jane Harmann
I had to stop watching that program after about a half hour, it made me sick to listen to that other idiot/nut job, Jane Harmann - who is as much part of the problem as Pat Roberts is, if anything she's worse because she's bush butt licking in her own way - by suggesting that Domestic Spying is necessary. the fucking idiot needs to be yanked out of that chair and sent home packing permanently.

6. Roberts just happened to bring along his bottle of "memory pills" so he
could pull them out as a prop to counter Harmon and Daschle. :eyes:

I thought the whole interview looked staged. The clips of Bush just happened to fit Russert's line of questioning...when how could he know what was going to the the answers to his questions? The fact that Roberts was given so much longer to talk than ANY of the others there was the tip off and his pulling out his prop bottle of the "memory pills" meant he already was all set to imply that Harmon and Daschle were liars but the "memory pills" stunt meant that he could make a joke of it to take the edge off.

The whole show just sickened me.

8. I wouldn't be surprised if Timmy or the network hadn't provided the prop.
The whole show is staged.

9. Daschle and Harmann did a lousy job countering, imo.
In another post, someone brought up the fact that it should have been Rockefeller with Daschle, and where was he?

The problem with both Daschle and Harmann, and why they did a lousy job is because they didn't flatly disagree with Pat Roberts on the issue of domestic spying - it was simply unbearable to watch mtp all the way through, i was yelling so hard at Daschle and Harmann for not countering the bullshit Roberts was suggesting/implying and lying about HARD ENOUGH.

Pickering from the Washington Post heard what I heard:

11. He should change his title....
to Senate Liaison to the White House. He has no independence. He's a water carrier for the Bush team.

12. Roberts SAID it! His Nixon instict are back...

TIM RUSSERT: Senator Roberts, let me ask you a very serious question. Do you believe that the Constitution gives the President of the United States the authority to do anything he believes is necessary to protect the country?

ROBERTS: Yes, but I wouldn’t say anything he believes. I think you go at it very, very carefully. And that’s been done by every president that I know of.
