Conservatives Divided on '08 Candidate
To be honest, I'm not familiar with George Allen. I'm also surprised Giuliani only got 12% considering most pubs seem to think he's some sort of god...

http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=12373

For the second straight year, conservatives failed to identify a frontrunner for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, according to a poll taken at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C.

Here are the results:

Thinking ahead to the 2008 presidential election, who do you think will be the next Republican nominee for President?

George Allen: 22%
John McCain: 20%
Rudy Giuliani: 12%
Condoleezza Rice: 10%
Bill Frist: 6%
Tom Tancredo: 5%
Mitt Romney: 5%
Newt Gingrich: 5%
Rick Santorum: 3%
George Pataki: 3%
Undecided: 4%

*All others tested received 1% or less

1. Hate to be Discouraging
but if conservatives want George Allen, they have learned nothing from having Bush as their President. Allen is another mental lightweight whose only claim to fame is his daddy was a professional football coach.

This is just more evidence that we must take over Congress.

8. I don't think they learned anything.
If they did this country would not be in the shape it is in. But if they learned and liked, Allen is the guy for them.

2. I think they're going to need a "gimmick" candidate like Condi
...or at least use her as a running-mate. Also, look for a new Bin Laden tape to show up about three days before the election.

5. I can't discount an unmentioned dark horse who might
be seen as virtually unknown and "refreshing" and who will do the bidding of the RNC, the neocons, and keep the * program of gutting America for an indefinite period of time.

6. as I was shaving, this thought struck me and caused me to nick my throat
What if the GOP knows that they have screwed up the country so badly, and they know that many of the problems are just coming to the surface now, so they plan to leave all the mess to a democrat and let him/her/it try to pick up after their mess. Tey get four years to Bork or Clinton the next president, while the solidify their money lobbying and corrupt and inept leadership of all aspects of federal government.

9. Who thinks Giuliani is a "god"?
Certainly not the pukes, they're savvy enough to know that there's no way they can sell a NYer to the bowels of their Redness. Plus, Bulliani is long-damaged goods, it won't happen.
