Cheney shooting is just another distraction from Treason! |
|
As sad as it is for Mr.Whittington and his family,to be shot(possibly killed) and as wonderful as it is to hear and see the jokes about Cheney and his gun, everybody's focus should be on last week's revelations about the Vice Presidents Treason! Nobody's talking about that anymore it seems! Perhaps I just haven't been seeing the right programs, or reading the right posts, but shouldn't that be the issue? How many times does it happen in history that a Vice President is accused of the despicable crime of outing an agent who was actively and secretly working on finding WMDS? Why is no on focusing on this? Am I wrong? If I've missed all the uproar about that, please inform me! I am mad!

1. It may be a distraction |
|
but it sure as hell is fun. Everyone was yuking it up at work, where politics is rarely spoken. I love the pile on effect and think the freepers would have been far worse if the situation was reversed.

And I got to throw in that he leaked the name of a CIA agent, which I think by the looks that I got that these people have not been following the Plame case.

5. We may see it as that, but... |
|
think of the average American who hasn't been paying attention to how corrupt, incompetent, and dishonest this regime is. Think of the hunters out there who know the hunting laws and see how this has been handled. They know that if it had been one of them who shot someone, they'd be in deep shit. But this vp gets preferential treatment and it's all swept under the rug. These are the types of Americans for whom issues like this make them stand up and pay attention. So it opens doors for us to talk to them and inform them of all the other crap this regime has pulled.
That's just my $.02 worth.

8. Once again I agree, and you'd think.... |

that all of the ISSUES we have in dealing with the repugs, something would stick. Just when things get really bizarre,I mean what isn't bizarre with this admin? It gets even more freaky! And now, just as one imagines that the repugs are digging their own holes to crawl into....the dems turn on each other even more...Hackett for instance. I'm getting madder! Sorry!

9. Exactly. People who haven't payed attention to things |
|
can certainly relate to this. They can see how there was a cover-up involved. Suddenly it's really ok to say all kinds of bad things about bushco. I know it seems like it's all about the jokes, but the jokes are the first and safest way for the truth to get out to the average person.
The Plame case is complicated, as are all the other scandels from this administration. With all the mis-information circulated compliments of the WH and the MSM, it's a story like this that the average person can grab onto.

14. It's true too many people do not know about Plame |
|
Guess they only hear a brief headline and possibly that Cheney might have something to do with it. With all this attention to Cheney and how he mishandled his own situation this just might get people's attention concerning his part in the Plame case. Just hoping.

7. Explain to me in 20 words or less what the Plame scandal is about |
|
and why it matters.
Now, here's Fuddgate in 20 words:
Cheney blasted a guy with a gun, didn't report it for 20 hours, and then tried to blame his victim.
Clear?

of secret work in the M East, especially Iran, who do really hate USA. Sorry not very succinct!

15. Don't You Dare Minimize This Incident |
|
Cheney shoots a person, puts him in the hospital. Then Cheney mishandles the aftermath in about as clumsy and suspicious a manner as is humanly possible, sidetracking all official channels, including the President of the United States. And Tuesday morning, the victim turns up with a life-threatening injury to his heart, caused by the shooting, and guaranteed to keep this story alive for weeks. On Wednesday, Scott McClellan gets to try to explain to a newly-enraged White House press corps why he didn't tell them about the heart problem on Tuesday.
Cheney is permanently damaged goods, and this administration is revealed in all its malignant splendor. Not too shabby.....

17. Just another example of it! |
|
And an important one at that! This is an example of his attempting to act "above the law" that resonates with 'Joe Six-Pack" who may know nothing about Constitutional law or foreign policy but he does know about hunting and the rules of safe gun handling. That's precisely why this is such big news and is 'blowing up in their faces', so to speak.

Not very catchy.
I'd rather see the national dialogue focus on universal health care, but that's just me.
