Hello? Anyone Home? Did You know they're Destroying Our Constitution?
People every single day there are a dozen new items to be outraged over, by the Fascists in the White House and by a few within our own party, but today I ask that everyone here get behind one honorable and great leader and hero, get behind the only one fighting on the behalf the entire nation, and that is Russ Feingold. Today he is a lone voice in the wilderness once again, because our party leaders are spineless and afraid to risk political attacks, so they're rolling over on our rights protected by our constitution. we need to put this issue front and center because the only person in Washington who is trying to do this is Russ Feingold.

I beg you all, to please go to this link below, rate it up and then lobby your Senators to get behind Feingold right now.

5. I feel your pain and share your concern/rage
especially the "dozen new items to be outraged over" I called Russ earlier in the week to thank him and let him know of my support on the Patriot Act filibuster. Then I called Reid and a few others in the leadership plus the Republicans that stood with the Democrats last year but this year the Democratic leadership seems to have caved in. So Russ will be standing pretty much alone.

Today I called the Senate Intelligence committee trying to get them to vote Yes on Senator Rockefeller's motion to investigate the illegal NSA spying activities. The two Republicans that had supported it (Snowe and Hagel) are now wavering after extreme pressure from the WH. And most of the Dems won't publicly commit. The vote is Tomorrow! Unless of course, Pat Roberts decides it may go against him then there may never be a vote. Senator Rockefeller's office says they will get back to me to let me know if the vote is still on.

It is also frustrating to see how much damage these incompetents can do so quickly. Of course, building something good takes skill and competance, tearing it down is just too easy unless more of us stand up.

6. Excellent, and thank you..
Curious, how were you able to call the Senate Intelligence Committee?
Do Committees have phone numbers? (!) Or did you mean to say that you called members of the Senate Intelligence Committee?

Did you see Senator Byrd on the floor calling on a special investigation on the Domestic Spying? Said he believed that the President broke the law...

but why did he vote for Alito?

8. I meant to say the members, and
I have heard that some of the committees do have numbers and staff but I have not tried it yet.

Did not see Senator Byrd calling for an investigation but am glad to hear it.

He is one of the more frustrating Dems, admirable one minute and drives me nuts the next. During the Alito cloture vote it was impossible to get through on the phone but I did manage a to send him a fax.

Senator Byrd says he voted for Alito because he is a converstive from a conservative state. However, Alito is no classical conservative -- just another Federalist flying false colors.

7. There is another voice in the wilderness,
and it is Wes Clark's! Wes speaks truth to power, and tells it like it is, from when he was the only voice for Rwanda, to when his and Madeleine Albright's voices persuaded the Clinton Admin., over his bosses'(the Pentagon) objections to halt the ethnic cleansing in the Balkans, to speaking out against the war in Iraq before, during, and after that fiasco.

2008 is all about flipping a few red states into our column. Hillary certainly can't do it. Wes Clark is a progressive wolf in military uniform sheep's clothing. Many Republicans who didn't care for Bush, still couldn't vote for Kerry. Clark was the only Dem. they could consider. Clark has had more EXECUTIVE leadership roles than any Senator by virtue of his military commands where he had responsibility for the lives of hundreds of thousands of servicepeople and their dependents--the whole range of housing, education, training, healthcare, social services, sometimes in a dangerous spot. When Clark was Supreme Allied Commander Europe (Eisenhower's last military position), he had "Head-of-State" status, meaning that he dealt directly with prime ministers/presidents, not underlings. And Clark was virtually the only voice urging help for Rwanda. And Clark and Madeleine Albright were the ones who convinced Clinton to take action against the ethnic cleansing in the Balkans, where Clark carried out the military action w/o the loss of a single American life. In this he stood up to the Pentagon brass who wanted nothing to do with "saving Albanians." And it was Clark who served for more than 30 years AFTER getting shot up and winning hero medals in Vietnam, when he could have gone for the big bucks in private industry. Try Swift Boating this guy--the smackdown will be heard around the world. Clark is all about duty, honor, country. When Clark's American Dream/American Hero story gets out to middle America, watch how many red states flip. And the beauty of Wes Clark is that HE IS A REAL LIVE D-E-M-O-C-R-A-T, with a progressive agenda equal to anyone. See www.securingamerica.com
