Cheney says he STILL believes that his was the correct way to |
|
handle the information about the accident. Just like he still believes al Q. were in Iraq and they had WMD. What has to happen to make this stubborn man admit he made a mistake?

3. Do we see a pattern here? |
|
For anything from a "wardrobe malfunction" to starting a war--Cheney will never, ever 'fess to a mistake.
He's truly psycho.

4. It's why these people cannot learn. |

Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 03:18 PM by TahitiNut
Without the willingness to acknowledge a mistake, even the most egregious that result in loss of human life, there is no opportunity to learn. Indeed, whole areas of learning are impeded in the denial of culpability.
Denial, hyper-rationalization, confabulation, and even the gross reordering of value priorities are all marshalled as defenses against acknowledging errors ... and we see them all in spades in this sociopathic regime.

5. Now that's what I call a good explanation! I remember in |

Psychology 101 that the ability to learn from one's experiences/mistakes is the true definition of intelligence. Makes sense to me! The man is as stupid as the fool president.

6. I think understanding this is the key to the power of unconditional love. |
|
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 03:52 PM by TahitiNut
When we raise children with conditional love and acceptance, where withholding love is the threat to 'encourage' a mistake-free existence, we create little neurotics who connect error with loss of lovability. What they grow into as adults are the bane of a healthy society. There are just too many 'substitutes' and 'shortcuts' for being a decent parent, severing the healthy connections in the child between self-esteem and self-examination. We can see the parental genius of Paul Wellstone when the aphorism he employed with his children is examined in this light: "Never separate the lives you live from the words you speak!" This is prescription for inner integrity - a prerequisite for life-long learning.

The more these assholes refuse to admit mistakes, attempt to blame others for THEIR fuckups, the more likely that sooner or later, the public wakes up and sees it. At least that's how it would work if we weren't in Bizarro World.
