If Cheney's victim doesn't survive...does Cheney? |
And who might Dubya nominate as Veep if Cheney had to go?

6. I'd hope so. Might have to use Carpathian oak for the sake, though. |

3. I think Cheney could go for a variety of reasons... |
Libby's testimony chief among them, though this shooting thing doesn't help matters for the VP. Who would replace him depends on the view of the Bush faction of the GOP. If they think that the new VP will be taken down a notch by occupying the disgraced office of the former VP, they'll want to install a moderate rival like McCain and say they're "reaching across aisles" or some such nonsense. If they think the new VP slot would be a kingmaking position, they'll install whomever they want to succeed Bush. Who that is, however, is hard to say. There's not a lot of electable people left in the Bush camp, and the next GOP POTUS candidate will almost definitely come from elsewhere. If I had to pick a name, I'd go with Rice.

Rice? Interesting. That could have the effect |
of "Humphreyizing" Condi for '08 if Dubya's poll numbers continue to go south.

5. The ice that Cheney is skating on is extra thin. No matter |
what comes to pass on Fuddgate. Cheney should be gone by June. Not unless he can work a miracle.
