Let's start a movement: Lay Off Congress and SCOTUS Now! |
|
OK..it's an idea that someone should start as a faux-movement. Since the President is now above the law and can pick and choose laws as he chooses, there is utterly no need for Congress and the Senate as well as the Supreme Court. Laws should now be viewed as loony suggestions and the President should pick which laws pertain to any suggested time at his calling.
Why waste tax money on all these meaningless people in Washington when all we need to have is the President! What waste all these people are. Let's lay them off! Balance the budget! Allow the President to FINALLY be King!
Who's with me? Let's go!

3. Question from the floor... |
|
Wasn't anti-incumbency the REAL key to the Pugs seizing Congress back in the 90s, and subsequently selling wolf tickets on the Republican Revolution; as opposed to the country going Right?

And it's a hellova strategy. It takes the (overt) partisanship out of the fight, and reels in the growing number of disenfranchised voters. Framing it as a simple "Dems good, Repubs bad" arguement just doesn't ring true. It IS time for a good housecleaning.

Back in '94, weren't there a lot of new vacancies because of folks not seeking reelection?
For example, how WOULD HAVE Spencer Abraham done if Donald Riegle decided to hold on to his Senate seat? Same for whoever took George Mitchell's place.

2. Since the president can do anything he wants... |
|
there is no need for Congress to investigate anything he does. There is no need for Congress - it's a waste of money and the media could save a LOT of time by not having to ask them about anything.
From now on, just have Karl Rove do a 10-minute wrap-up on Fox News once a week to let us know what's going on. You know - if he wants to.
That will allow more time for important stuff like missing blondes and baby-snatchers and perverts.

7. We should just shun this government. It is illegitimate.... |
|
What we have right now is a sham government of corporations, by corporations, and for corporations. We should just start all over again and hold our own elections so that we have a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
I'm half kidding and half serious. Our country's current state of affairs is sad.
