Happy fuc#ing holidays to Bushco, "WHERE AMERICA BOYCOTTS"
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 10:59 PM by Jeffersons Ghost
By refusing to stock the prescription for Plan B, a medically approved birth control option, Wal-Mart is blatantly discriminating against a woman's legal right to contraception.

Did you know that Wal-Mart, the nation's largest retail pharmacy, has been denying millions of American women the chance to prevent unintended pregnancy?

It's true. The store has refused to stock the “morning-after pill" or Plan B, a medically approved birth control option for women. Take Action!

Now, three Massachusetts women have filed an anti- discrimination lawsuit against Wal-Mart, and NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts has joined them.
Sign the petition to join them now!

Plan B is highly effective in preventing pregnancy if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, contraceptive failure, or sexual assault. It was approved by the FDA in 1999 as a safe and effective back-up birth control method, yet Wal-Mart refuses to carry or distribute the prescription in its stores.

Wal-Mart's CEO Lee Scott seems to think he knows more about a woman's health than the gynecologists, doctors, and government agencies who approved Plan B over six years ago.

Make your voice heard now. Tell Lee Scott and Wal-Mart's Board of Directors that it should never be their place to decide what medications women may or may not take. Ask Wal-Mart to stop discriminating against women and to make the health and rights of all their customers a top priority.

Here's to defending a woman's legal right to choose...Are you with me?

7. I hope so JG. I'm so sick of this
bullcrap. :grr:

I've been boycotting them for a couple of years, but now have to go 35 miles to buy anything. It's a very small rural city and Chinamart drove everyone else out of business. I've never heard of a problem with birth control scrips, but doubt anyone here would even attempt to fill a morning after pill there.

I hear people complain about jobs going overseas as they unload bags from Chinamart!

Insanity - doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

2. Someone needs to explain this one to me.
I do not see how you can compel someone to sell something they do not want to. It just does not seem right to me.

You can not compel a doctor to perform an abortion. You can not compel a business to serve/sell alcohol. You can not compel a Christian bookstore to sell pornography. Etc

I am Pro-Choice but I do not like the idea of compelling pharmacist to sell something they find morally obejectionable.

8. I didn't know shopping at Hell*Mart had political implications
Until very recently... I NEVER liked the commercial implications of a monopoly totally taking over and running small merchants out of business.

I noticed a VERY long time ago that Reich-Wingers were like lock-stepping pre-recorded advertisements for the store.

Did they know it was their little bit of Bushco heaven long before me?

Were their ministers telling them where to shop years ago?

9. I went shopping there last summer
My poor pup was suffering because fleas were at an all time high last summer. I saw this great flea spray on TV and figured Hell*Mart had it but they said non of their products were for yellow dogs.

By the way, what's up with all my flowers blooming out of season again this year?

Why are record numbers of hurricanes predicted again next year?

Who's that party that keeps pushing to develop wild areas with planet altering impact?

When should I worry about the environment?
