1. Consensus - Chertoff don't know crap about disaster response.

2. Further consensus - Chertoff only looks good in comparison with Brownie.

3. Still further consensus - we will not survive a mega disaster if FEMA or DHS is at all involved. Have to rely on Fire, police, rescue medics, National Guard; FEMA civilian auxiliaries (Ham Radio, CERT); philanthropic NGO's (Salvation Army, Red Cross, Southern Baptist Brotherhood, St Vincent De Paul) -- which means us civilians and our local first responders.

4. Final consensus at the local brew pub (we had a round with the retired Police Chief) - Chertoff is so bad - keep him away from our disaster.

Note: These guys are more heavily GOP then the community as a whole.

These FEMA Related, Volunteer, NGO's (CERT, Ham Radio, Urban Search and Rescue) and the Philanthropic "Disaster" NGO's (Salvation Army, Red Cross, St. Vincent DePaul, Southern Baptist Brotherhood) are a part of Bush's base - the knowledgeable "Protect Us From Terra" (as distinguished from the Hysterical "Protect Us from Terra" crowd).
