Can you believe Mary Matilan remark about Katrina? Sorry if dupe

I had to work today, could not get on before. On Today Show, Matalan in ranting defense of Cheny says that "when Katrina hit the (initial) stories were so horrendous, they hindered the response." (Almost an exact quote). Might the stories have been horrendous because what happened was horrendous, battleaxe??
