"IF YOU DON'T LIKE AMERICA, YOU CAN LEAVE"
LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT! is what a fool told me yesterday but he said it too late.

How do you handle comments like this?

A problem this particular fool had by the time he resorted to his remark was that he had ALREADY told me he didn't need the 4th amendment and had nothing to hide! He didn't mind the government eavesdropping on him so when he made the typical Reich-Wing statement, I refereed to his earlier comment by saying, "If that's how you feel, why don't YOU MOVE, to China? I then added, "you better pack fast because China is gaining more civil liberty every day!"

I went on to say that when I was growing up they claimed we were better than Russia because of our freedoms and now, EVERYTHING THEY USED TO CLAIM WAS WRONG WITH RUSSIA IS NOW WRONG IN AMERICA!"

POINT NUMBER TWO:

We had also already agreed NO politician could be trusted, because he wanted to prove there is NO DIFFERENCE in the two parties.

Then while discussing the Patriot Act further, I claimed the act was only used to spy on political adversaries and he said, "Oh no, the president wouldn't use it that way!"

I said, "I THOUGHT WE JUST AGREED THAT NO POLITICIAN CAN BE TRUSTED AND NOW YOU ASK ME TO TRUST ONE WHO HAS PROVEN BEYOND A DOUBT THAT HE IS A LIAR."

I like to start out by announcing how truly CONSERVATIVE I AM. I'm conservative about our GOD-GIVEN liberties and take a VERY conservative view on protecting the Bill of Rights, so many have died to defend.

I'm Conservative about CHRISTIANITY and know in my heart Jesus would NEVER advocate war or rampant profiteering. Jesus said "Give everything you own to the poor and come follow me."

it amended or YOU should leave."

I like the Constitutions and the protections it offers. That's why I'm staying.

19. Most of the people I meet in everyday America are just
trying to get by the best way that they can. I can tell when I run into Bush supporters but I never meet rabid freeper types. I don't just assume that they are wedded to their position, lots of people are very upset. I'm trying to stay positive and hoping for change. At any rate, I won't leave this country; despite it's flaws, it's still worth living here.

35. It's happening. This administration has less support than
in the previous years. Just two years ago, virtually no one outside of DU would utter a peep of dissent and now it is everywhere. Patience, Grasshopper. I know it's hard to watch change come so slowly but I think the longer this drags on, the more the republicans will be finished for good. I have an elderly mother who is struggling with the new medicare boondoggle. She had perfectly good retirement benefits and now she is being forced onto the crappy Part D which is going to cost her a lot more. She voted for Kerry and is a Democrat but a lot of the seniors that she knows were (Were) Bush supporters, that is all done now. Wait until they all hit the *doughnut hole*! Bushco can't help shooting themselves in the foot when they aren't shooting their friends.

We were really getting into it when he said, "If you don't like Bush or this country then leave!"

My response was, "So you liked Clinton, right?"

To which he said, "I hated Clinton!"

My response, "Then what are YOU still doing here?"

He went completely bonkers!

I got so fed up with this line one day that I made an offer to the Bushie..."Fine, I have a sister in Thailand, I have my passport ready, my wife can get me any vaccinations and shots I need by tomorrow. Buy me a ticket and I'll get the hell out of your hair!" He actually said okay at first, but added the caveat that he "knew" I was joking, and therefore...you know.

"I'm totally, 100% serious. Buy me a ticket, I'm gone."

I even took a fair risk, and gave him all the info he needed to have the ticket purchased in my name, including my address and everything. I even looked up flights for him and found a relatively cheap ticket. That's when the fun began. In typical republican "debating" fashion, he suddenly had to know my social security number, and where I'd be staying in Thailand, and then began joking about "yeah, like you really have a sister in Thailand! Sure you do! Haha!"

"What do you care?" I asked him. "You just said you wanted me gone. What should it matter to you where I say I'm going?"

He gave in. Yeah, right! He pretended to give in. He said, okay, he'd buy the tickets. But he had to go to a convention in Kansas City, and I've have to fly out and meet him, because he didn't want to mail the tickets.

"You've never heard of E-tickets?" I offered.

He skulked off doing that "Uh...haha...see, if you were really going to leave, you'd fly to Kansas to pick your precious tickets, lying leftist scum!"

They're amazing creatures, the Bushies. But the do learn a lot from Hannity and O'Reilly!

Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 12:24 PM by Democrats_win
Or that Abortion clinic/1996 Olympic bomber didn't leave. Of course they wouldn't get their fix of hate radio, now would they?

Americans should warn fundamentalists that they are on the wrong path. Just as Cain was warned not to let his anger turn to the sin of killing his brother Abel, today's fundamentalist surely saw the warnings of 1995 and 1996. Now they are deeply involved in the mass murder in Iraq and all of the corruption of the Republican party.

Yet what do they do? They wear their arrogance as a badge of honor with Pat Robertson proclaiming that that cities should be destroyed!!! Does he think he's God? Their sins are piling up. They will be leaving, but it won't be some sort of rapture. They can not function in society any more; they're leaving for punishment.

He has the audacity to claim that it is you who "hates America", while it is he who supports the dismantling of the Constitution, the intentional bankruptcy of our federal treasury for generations to come, & the purposeful, caluculated disengagement of our checks & balances through rigged elections so that policies that defy common sense can be ramrodded through legislation.

32. The Cons are not really conservative!
Well unless it concerns the 1% of royalty.

Love it or leave it...what a joke, Thats straight Nazism.

Now for the true reality:

I guess i wouldn't expect anything more out of a brain washed society that urges Fox think tank talking points as if they are facts. Maybe the reality of the national police force, which will be created by the homeland security after the patriot act is renewed, which it will be renewed because if you don't vote to renew..you end up like Mr. Wellstone. The police force will run rapid with no jurisdiction, no warrants and no civil rights to hold them back. They will coincide with KBRs (Kellogg, Brown, and Root) new US detention centers which are being built around the country. The detention centers will be used for the governments new practice of extraordinary rendition, and of course permanent detention. With the creation of the national police the government will effectively have achieved its goal of maintaining control over the entire US. The national Police force can arrest and detain any person in the US without a court order or a warrant, they don't even need probable cause.

All this is very scary considering that the current administration has adopted a policy of you are either with us or against us. So for those who are against them its not love it or leave it, its we will arrest you and permanently detain you if you don't support the NEO-CONS.

thats the reality we are now faced with, and if you don't believe me read the fine print its all there.

Love It or Leave It -- It is unfortunate that this admin has created such a divided America. In America it is not a an either or situation. Just because this admin. can only function in those terms "black or white", "with us or against us" I don't. Not only do I love it am I not going to leave because in this free country we have the right to dissent so I will be in you face every day fighting for the America that once welcomed all people.
