The biggest corporate scandal with ties that go into the highest levels of govt...hmmmmm...no one seems to be talking about the trial at all, except for the Houston Chronicle of course.

1. Now that you mention it, I haven't |
|
heard anything in a couple of weeks about it. Last I heard they were in jury selection.

2. It gets little play in Texas, too. |

Corporate-friendly papers, the Dallas Morning News & ft. worth Star-Telegram relegate most of the stories to the Business Section.

has had a pretty big story covering the trial every day. I've been pretty surprised.
They've got great witnesses for the prosecution. It seems that right up the corporate ladder each person turned state's evidence and is testifying against them.
It will probably come down to documents in the end though.
The article I read today talked about the witness being someone high in the PR Department I think. Anyway, he said he met with Skilling before a conference call with stock analysts, and he was told by Skilling to play down the problems and say all is fine and well positioned for growth. He said he just had his memory and had no memos or notes of the talk.
You don't know what a jury will make of that kind of testimony. I guess it depends on what the defense does.
Anyway, I've been following the case pretty closely in the local paper.

4. Well I know why you don't see it on NBC - because GE is right behind them. |
|
Perhaps the other corporate media outlets are following the same practices, and will expect the same "coverage" eventually.

If the media wasn't so damn liberal, this trial would be getting more air time than OJ!
