(no cable), but I think I can explain the Prohibition comparision. During that time in our history, the law against liquor was flagrantly flaunted, and it caused a rise in crime, especially organized crime. I'm not sure how much the Mob is involved in illegal immigration, though. Interestingly enough, once Prohibition was repealed, the violence associated with "rum runners" went way down. All immigration to this country was, at one time, legal, just as drinking was before Prohibition. I can't believe it, but is Dobbs implying that we should take down our immigration laws and leave the borders wide open for everyone? I thought he was one against immigration in any form.
