Have you noticed that the Rovian techniques for this story goes like this:

"Are you saying that Cheney MEANT to shoot Harry Whittington?!

They call this the "double inverse straw-man". Very effective.

Sean Hannity used this very technique on Tuesday. He mentioned that "some people" brought up the theory that Cheney had been drinking, thus the 18-hour delay.

Hannity then said (swear to God), "I wonder what the next story will be? That the Vice-President was smoking crack? That he was shooing heroin into his veins?"
