"The State Department says Chavez is using the nation’s bountiful oil wealth to meddle in the affairs of neighboring countries, and has slammed him for boosting ties to U.S. foes like Cuba and Iran."(source:

So, let me get this straight. The US State Department is accusing Venezuela of meddleing in the affairs of other countries?
If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. This is what I've been talking about for years concerning the Bush Administration: They are making the US the laughing stock of the diplomatic world.
:banghead:
Let's get down to brass tacks here. The USBG (US Bush Gov't) doesn't like Chavez because he's got oil and doesn't have to do what the US tells him to. He's out of their control. If he didn't have oil, the USBG wouldn't even bat an eye if Venezuela turned into a Rawandan genocide.
Chavez is no saint, quite the contrary, he's a bastard. But so what? If having the reputation of a "bastard" were any reason to "take out" a national leader, then the US Navy Seals would have cleaned out the Bush White House a long time ago.
Again, how does the State Department's statement that Chavez "meddles" in other countries' affairs a distinguishing factor from US behavior? It isn't. Our government is just better at keeping their secrets a secret, and their propaganda carefully camouflaged as "news". And the very fact that the State Department made this statement is in itself the USBG meddling in Venezuela's affairs.
