The Carpetbagger: Swiftboat Corsi's comeback?
http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/6662.html

Of all of the partisan attack dogs from the Swiftboat smear of 2004, few were as thoroughly discredited as Jerome Corsi. The man was not only caught lying about John Kerry's heroic military service, Corsi was also exposed as a bigot, having condemned Islam and Roman Catholicism, among others...

...And what's Corsi up to now? He's publishing a book with Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate J. Kenneth Blackwell called "Rebuilding America."...

...By any reasonable standard, Corsi should be politically radioactive. Maybe Blackwell has forgotten, but one in five Ohioans is Catholic. Why on earth would a Republican gubernatorial candidate get within five feet of Corsi, worse yet write a book with the guy?

Shouldn't a leading Republican gubernatorial candidate who crafts a blueprint for government with a discredited bigot face at least some consequences?

2. "Politically radioactive"? He'll be on Fox, Hardball, Russert, etc...
Remember, "it's OK if you are Republican." No matter how discredited and ridiculous this guy can be as a source, he'll be pushing his book in every network and pundit show. Chris Matthews will crack Hillary jokes with him, and Russert will have a one-on-one debate of Corsi with... yes, Kenneth Blackwell, the co-author, for balance. And on and on.

As long as the political talk-shows are an overwhelmingly Republican domain, any discredited scumbag and manipulator like Corsi will have a soapbox to start as many "swiftboating" operations as he can fabricate.

That is the depressing state of political debate in our national media.

:banghead:

In the meantime, lefty pundits and bloggers will remain relegated to nothingness, with barely Air America or their own blogs as the only media springboards accessible.

be given a heads up on this one, too.

3. Since Whitewell decides who in OH gets to vote,
we might as well start calling Governor now, no matter who his friends are.

4. Seems Blackwell should be investigated.
Did he have a relationship with Corsi while chairing the Bush campaign in Ohio?

7. Catholics don't understand how anti-Catholic the Right Wingers are
they have gotten a lot of Catholics to vote for them, but the Catholics have forgotten the ant-catholic wasps past. Discrimination against Irish & Italian emigrants, KKK lynchings of Catholics,

Good that they are reminded of the past & current bigotry... If the religious right losses the Catholic vote they will lose a lot more elections.

10. Is he still thinking about running against Kerry in Massachusetts
Gads that would be amusing.

But I think this collaboration tells us all we need to know about Blackwell, as if we didn't already. All the more reason why elections shouldn't be in any partisan hands. Problem is, no one seems to stay non-partisan for long.

11. Why do we have to put up with this puke again?
His alliance with Blackwell is evidence of Blackwell's own lack of integrity.

12. You asked why, so here goes
The "book deal" is one way of paying off people that do things that help you out with no money trial that could be embarrassing to you.
It's is cheep and it can be manipulated to actually cost noting out of your own pocket.
Even if the book sucks all you need to do is make some mass perches and run it up the best sellers list and all the right winger wing nuts will buy it whether they actually can read or not.

13. K&R!
What a waste of oxygen Corsi and Blackwell are. I hope the OH Dem Party knows about this (including all the real dirt on Corsi), so they can use it against Blackwell.
