Think Osama prefers Dubai Ports over Bush buddies Managing US Ports? |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-20-06 06:51 PM by JamRock
Did 911 happen because Arabs had infiltrated U.S. customs, inspection, intelligence, government???? I suspect some here who believe there were some other controlling factors behind the 911 catastrophe.
Dubai Ports World is reputed be one of the most technologically advanced, sophisticated and well managed global shipping operations in the world. Its larger competitors, such as Hutchinson, are gobbling up smaller operators around the globe, including much of Asia.
Now, could someone explain to me why DP World's management of a few U.S. ports be “scary” or any less secure that the lax management by the financially troubled UK ports operator P & O that it recently acquired?
Please explain what DP World could do to make U.S. port security weaker that that in currently is under the generally neglectful eye of the Bush Admin which currently provides ZERO inspection to 95% of all port cargo.
I suspect that port-management is not as attractive to Bush/Cheney buddies at Halliburton et al as the oil and war-profiteering business or else those other folks would have those deals.
Frankly, I will fell much safer with Dubai Ports operating port security that some chosen Halliburton subsidiary!!!!

1. Well, I see your point. |
|
The problem is an admin that outsources to corporations that may or may not care about national security. There's NO effort to check the corp. hanlding the effort, domestic or foreign.

2. why do we have to contract everything out? |
|
Have local or state governments run their ports and use unionized American workers to do the work. Let's increase the number of good jobs in this country, not outsource every fucking thing that isn't nailed down.

4. And that's not right either. |
|
Certainly you're not using that as a justification for the port ownership change?

Question is: what's the problem. 9/11 did not happen just because of evil Arabs in position of power. The 19 were obviously just pawns is a bigger game.

6. Interesting perspective, we should have tried it in WWII |

rather than fighting those nasty Nazis and Japanese, we should have offered them ownership in America. That way they'd never dare to attack.

8. Because they financed the alleged 9-11 terrorists? |
|
That's the story. This company was investigated as part of the financing machinery directly involved with 9-11. I believe they worked hand-in-hand with BushCo, then as now, but they were part of the investigation.

The neocon propaganda is designed to make you scared of Saddam and Iran (whilst staying quiet about Bushco business dealings with other countries in the ME).

Bush and Arab partners; UAE, BCCI, Riggs Bank, money laundering, funding terrorists. Military, oil, communications, shipping ports and lines. They control everything. DP World isn't an independent company any more than BCCI was an independent bank. Just like they use non-profits to launder their money here at home, they use whole countries to launder their money overseas. How can a country who is trying to improve trade relations with the dreaded Iran be our partner in fighting terrorists at the exact same time. It's complete and total madness.

13. That IS the point. Same except for the demogogic, anti-arab aspects |

This political miss-step is great for Dems to exploit. Obviously the decision was not reviewed by Karl Rove. But, truth be told, there is likely much more danger in the level of corruption in Port management by many other parties who are given a pass because they are not Arab.

bcause the people at the top let it happen (and did whatever they could to disrupt/disable normal procedures).
As for this company, doesn't matter how good their procedures are, people at the top can always bypass procedures if they need to.
