Has there ever been a caretaker government in US history? |
|
In many countries there seem to be times when a whole cabinet has resigned and an interim or caretaker govt appointed. Has this ever happened in US history?

There isn't a provision in our Constitution for an actual 'caretaker government' as you describe (as you see in parliamentary systems). Ford's term was probably as close as we could get constitutionally.
