What do Harriet Miers and the Dubai Ports Sale have in common ? |
|
I almost forgot her name already. Harriet Miers? The most competent candidate for the Supreme Court just a few months ago. Until the right-wing rose up against her. Then she became a footnote of history.
And now, the right wing is rebelling against the sale of our ports to Dubai. However, there is money involved in this decision. That might make it a little more difficult for the Administration to squeeze out of than the Harriet Miers decision? After all, we're in a global economy and Jimmmy Carter said he didn't think it was a threat to national security? So what's the big deal?

I hope he sticks this decision in the Freeps' faces. Then they can run around screaming, "The sky is falling!" all year while we sweep the elections.
They are so racist that they think any arab company is going to blow us all to bits.
Hilarious.

5. This issue, like the immigration one |
|
will provide for distinction amongst GOP candidates during their primary.
George Allen I suspect will be taking the Freeper stance on these issues.

6. We have to be the the ones to make him change |
|
it would be a very nice feather in our cap when they try to pull out the National Security "trump card" on us in future elections. No one seems to notice or care that Bush hasn't done a damn thing to improve our security at home. This time could be different if the dems can squash it.

3. How have the Freeps been handling this? I don't go over there and |
|
rely on folks here who do. Is the smoke coming out of their ears or are they still making excuses for that idiot they love so much.
Have they blamed Clinton yet?

4. CNN said Bush accepts his "Independent Commission's" view that |
|
there's no security problem and he's standing by "their" judgment.

7. It's always an "Independent Commission"... |

when it's controversial. He never accepts responsibility.

8. Dumb DEMs made an issue of this too soon -- Bush is going |
|
to come out against Dubai and blame staff officers from "Clinton Era" for the Dubai Ports approval.

10. I remember John Kerry addressing the ports during one of the debates |
|
and during the campaign.
Didn't seem to resonate to well then, I wonder if it will in the next election?
