6. How about bringing our troops home from Iraq?
Since we're losing troops daily. See at www.icasualties.org

To those of us with family members over there that is the top priority.

10. Let's see
1. Bring the troops home, (saving billions a month)
2. Repeal tax cuts. (saving billions more)
3. Use some for debt reduction, the rest to undo the damage done by the tax cuts for the rich, and his war.

17. It's hard to pick only three ...
Edited on Thu Feb-23-06 01:39 AM by BattyDem
but the first things that popped into my head are:

1) Election Reform (which means guaranteed voting rights for all and a voter verified paper trail - no more corporate ownership of voting machines with secret software!)
2) Universal health care (In a democracy, health care should be a RIGHT, not a privilege!)
3) Media Reform, which means break up the media monopolies, reinstate the Fairness Doctrine and make sure that the news media tells the truth. If they call it news, it must be fact, not fiction. (If we had a REAL media, we wouldn't have most of the current problems we face. Informed people don't vote for selfish idiots and they don't tolerate shit from the government!)

Of course, we need to get rid of the Patriot Act, rollback the tax cuts for the wealthy, reinstate civil rights, get out of Iraq, mend fences all over the world and prosecute every member of BushCo - but I think it would be easier to do that if our votes are counted fairly and accurately, if we're healthy and not strangled by medical bills, and if we're well informed. :-)

Investigations - all of the crimes during the past 6 years. Open up Cheney's files, DEMAND all items that were never given. Especially secret ENERGY meetings.

Imprisonment - of ALL REPUKE criminals.

23. Got to agree...
Election reform is high on my list as well (as well as the war).

Don't know if anyone caught wind of the press conference this morning.

National Popular Vote launched their campaign aimed at making every person's vote count (for once) without having to amend the constitution.

A very timely issue: http://www.nationalpopularvote.com/npv/

or no one will ever get the chance for the rest of everyone's list.

Once we retake part of congress and maybe the WH, it will be YEARS just cleaning up messes...some decisions may be unpopular too....

I think this election reform movement will be huge for us, if people take this issue out of the back of their closets and give it the attention and change it has had coming for a while.

2# Do what they can to save the planet from global warming.
3# Make a resolution to draft Al Gore. The solutions to all the other problems will flow from this.

Honorary mention
4# Make Al Gore's Birthday a national holiday.

29. Change #3
to national health care (as in single payer)

I'm with you on the first two.

Also add campaign finance reform and lobbying reform.

In this order

1. Campaign finance reform
2. Lobbying reform
3. Election reform
4. Tax cut rollbacks
5. Single payer health care system

Remove the chokehold of outside influence on Congress and the rest of the agenda is much easier.
