Bush Freudian slip: He just doesn't care about our security. He said it!!!
Edited on Thu Feb-23-06 11:01 AM by Julius Civitatus
This is not just the latest Bushism, but the most revealing of them all. I remember reading a study on Bush-speak written by Mark Crispin Miller a few years back that explained this phenomenon. Apparently, those verbal gaffes and misstatements that Bush makes on a daily basis are actually very revealing, telling you about his state of mind and what he really, really means.

Today, Bush said this on TV about the UAE port deal:

"This deal wouldn't go forward if we were concerned about the security for the United States of America."

G. W. Bush, source here: http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/007735.php

I'm sure he knew what he was trying to say. But the literal meaning of that sentence is: "If we really cared about the security for the United States of America, this deal wouldn't go forward."

His minders must be really, really proud of him.

5. I don't remember the exact quote,
but didn't he one time say something about "harming America?" That was a "gaff" that fits the same kind of Freudian slip that you refer to.

7. Technically speaking
It would have to be about sex for it to be a Freudian slip. I thinks this is more appropriately called the "lying duchebag slip"

12. I have to say, this is only No. 2 most revealing Bushism...
No. 1 would be, "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

That one's a freakin' classic.

14. Oh this is painfully funny. Imagine if Kerry ever flubbed like that
It would have been in every Bush stump speech, and picked up from there in snippets rebroadcast on prime time news for months after. Begin news coverage of a Bush campaign speech. Imagine Bush at the podium, slumped over it, smug smirk, and then:

"My opponent recently said he wouldn't oppose our efforts in Iraq if he were concerned about the security of the United States (pause, audience laugher). Well this time I agree with my opponent. He is not concerned about the security of the United States (big audience laughter) End news coverage of Bush.

Then they move on to some fluff Kerry campaign footage with Kerry saying something like "I voted to give this President the authority to use force in Iraq, but the President did not use that authority in the way he promised Congress he would" End news coverage of Kerry.

But they will bury this one from Bush. Everyone except David Letterman and Jon Stewart of course.

Notice the text is no longer available at the link. It's astounding how quickly the corp. media responds when the Fuhrer's people call to "correct the record."

32. Prez is trapped in his port & it's beginning to look a lot like Xmas

Liar. Thief. Incompetent. Warmonger.

Our message to our fellow patriots is now,
"FED UP, YET???"

- sorry I can't reduce the font - at least my incompetence hurts none -

This is the time to collect hard copy BUSH IMPEACHMENT petitions.

We need to educate people that impeachment is not limited to only the president & vice-president, and that all officers of the United States are subject to impeachment.

We also need to explain that Nixon didn't resign because the Congress in 1973 was controlled by Democrats. He resigned because a huge majority of Americans decided he had to go. That's when the famous big black limousine pulled up to the White House a couple weeks before Nixon's resignation; Barry Goldwater and the other Republican elders told Dick he had to leave by resignation or that he would be impeached and forced out of office by congressional action.

The North Jersey Paterson/Wayne Impeach Bush Group has on our web site available for downloading our Impeach Bush petition, in our Files section in both MSWord and WordPerfect formats. We invite you to use them.

We also have our Voters' Bill of Rights available for your download. Reclaiming democracy for honest tamper-proof elections goes hand-in-hand with impeaching the Bush Gang.

And of course you're welcome to join us. You don't have to live in Jersey to join our campaign to save our country.

North Jersey Paterson/Wayne Impeach Bush Group LOOK!
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/impeachbushnj

All patriots must work together to save our country. Impeach Bush-Cheney, indict, prosecute and convict them and Rice, Rumsfeld, Rove, Gonzales, Ashcroft, Powell.

When we care for justice and dignity and common decency for the sake of our commonwealth, we stop the barbarians of single selfishness and compulsive greed.

We can't let tyranny destroy us. For us, for our children's sakes, for the sake of our precious world, we must save our country.
