Repubs running for re-election - are they pro or con the port sale? |
|
Is this all just a load of crap to let those running sound like they are willing to stand up to bush? They can whine they don't like it knowing there isn't enough votes to override a veto.

1. I just posted this in another thread: |
|
I know it's all very tinfoil hat but I was thinking to myself that this whole thing is some kind of "gift" from Bush to the Republicans. Bush will be out of office soon but the other Repubs had to have something to make them look like heros, especially with all the ethics problems lately. Something like this whole port controversy makes it look as though they are going all out for national security, even butting heads with a stubborn, though unpopular, lameduck president who is trying to forge his "legacy".

2. I bet some will say that they stood up to the president on this important |
|
issue to 'domestic security.' Many will be able to toot their little horns citing 'pub paranoia and the staple nationalism BS. I can think of no other reason why this would come to air in a Republican controlled media environment.
In otherwords, I think it is exactly a load of crap to let those running sound like they are willing to stand up to bush.
One of my theories
