All we need to point out about UAE

They considered the Taliban the legitimate government of Afghanistan (still).
They do not acknowledge Israel's sovereignty.
9-11 money was laundered through their banks.

By all of the Bush administration's prior statements about the so-called "War on Terror" we should have invaded UAE instead of Iraq because they are friendly to terrorists, the very ones who attacked us. Instead we give this country who meets the very * definition of "enemy" the keys to our ports.

We shouldn't get bogged down in the details of the deal or how port security works or who knew what when about the deal. All of this helps distract from the main issue and helps the Bushies lie and deflect. And lumping all Arab countries together is racist. Dissenting about this particular country is not.

If we have to give up civil liberties because the security threat is so great, if the President can claim all of these "war" powers that he wants, then the threat to security is too great a risk to give our ports over to a country of questionable, clearly documented questionable, loyalty. Or we are a lot safer then and we can have our rights back and we can take this risk. It's one or the other. They can't have both.
