"bush is for it (sale to UAE) so you are against it" |
|
Dittohead splaining to Al Franken why liberals oppose the port sale to UAE. By God, that makes perfect fucking sense to me. I think we should all get onboard. Imagine if everything bush was for never happened. IMAGINE!

has that moronic freeper on period. He's not funny. He's not intelligent. He is definately not entertaining. BTW Franken did a shitty job arguing with him. He could have slam dunked the fool but did his usual fumbling and was extremely weak. Not a huge Franken fan here and I live in Minnesota. His books are great, his radio sucks.

Here's how almost any story goes. Shrub does something outrageous. We're all outraged.
Then someone does some digging into the details. Now, it's worse than we thought.
Someone else ties it into another scandal.
Everyone suddenly notices that it fits nicely into a pattern. AGAIN.
So, yes we're against almost everything that HE HIMSELF pays attention to.

12. Franken could have nailed him more on why UAE was bad choice |
|
He let Dittohead keep coming back with the racist card comment without swattting him with the facts...
UAE recognize the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan
UAE is responsible for illegal nuclear shipments to Iran, North Korea and Libya
FBI says money was transferred to the 9/11 hijackers through UAE banks
UAE is not cooperating in efforts to track down Osama's bank accounts
UAE leaders have direct ties to Carlyle Group, part of Bush crime family
Gonzales, Rice, Rumsfeld, Bush and Cheney think it's a "good idea"
Dubai Ports World is controlled by the UAE royal family
Again, if this was Clinton, you can bet the decision would be seen as EVIL...

The 45 days isn't the point. The multiple ties to terrorists is the point.
Hell, it's bush himself who said that we don't distinguish between terrorists and those who harbor terrorists.
So hold him to it.

Bush administration declined to bomb Osama bin Laden in 2004 because members of the UAE royal family were visiting him (bin Laden) and according to article (seen just an hour or so posted on DU) woould have killed about half the royal family! And this government is safe to operate our ports? O.M.G. edit: Link: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=364&topic_id=488962

enough to email Al and tell him I knew he wasn't racist. The freeper is lucky I wasn't there, or I would have told him a few simple truths-it doesn't matter what race or religion a crook is, you don't hire him for a job with security. UAE has a "record" of poor port security, which is enough for me.

16. I'm sure he meant that as an insult |
|
But for me at least, there's some truth to it. Frankly, at this point, I don't trust Bush at all. I think he's in bed with the biggest a**holes in corporate America (and the Middle East, for that matter), and I don't think he has my interest or the interest of any other little guy at heart in any way. So, yes, I'm suspicious of anything he wants to do bad enough to fight with Congress over it, no matter how innocent it seems on the surface. Whatever it is, it probably screws us and makes his CEO buddies lots of money. He's lost my trust, and there is likely nothing at all he can do to get it back at this point. It may be a kneejerk reaction, but after a while everybody flinches when they get hit in the face enough times. Know what I mean?

Did I hear correctly? Franken would be OK to have the UAE government run our ports once they're rubberstamped by Bushco's Congress? Why didn't he smack that dittohead down with some commonsense points? Is Al becoming another don't-commit, say-no-more-than-necessary, go-along, wait-and-see, DINOS? This is NOT about racism. Rush is using that as his talking point only because he has nowhere else to go. That Mark Luther guy is a gullible, brainwashed dumbass and I am now listening to Thom Hartman.

Luther repeatedly hammering him with the question, "Would you approve of the sale if they went through the 45 day investigation and got approved?" Al said, "Well, yes. I guess I would." I am not a Franken hater, by the way. I appreciate some things about him. But I was shocked that he did not bring more energy to a discussion that should have been a slam dunk. By all means, correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I heard. I have AAR Premium so I might check the mp3 if I have time. That's how shocked I was. . .

As far as the energy thing, I think he might have been gobsmacked (for lack of a better word) at being called racist by a friend. I have one GOP pal who sometimes hits me upside the head with a GOP race card once in a while, and I have been known to be shocked into silence for a while.
I've never been directly called "racist" by my friend, though, so I don't know how I would react. (She's a Black Republican, BTW. I've asked her how she can possibly explain that, and she refers to her family's military background.)

Al did not bring the fight to the debate; but I do commend him for having more than just syncophants to chat on his program. Imagine limbaugh hosting Joe Wilson. Never happen. limbaugh would need a heav dose after that ass whupping. Al is not a dino, he's a kind human being easily outshouted by a moron. And you are deadon about limbaugh having no where to go. Irony. Conservatives wanting arabs to protect our ports. If you object, you are a racist.

because they hate Israel and want to see it destroyed. UAE is one of only three nations who recognize the Taliban. UAE also does not recognize Israel's right to exist.
Are you sure it's not all about Right Wingers hating Israel, more than they hate themselves?
