Incomes are down and we aren't saving anything |
|
Incomes down 2+% from 2001 to 2004, savings rates are way down compared to the "90's." But retirement savings are up (as Americans deal with republican leadership.) Heard this on CBS radio this afternoon.
IN OTHER WORDS THE REPUBLICAN "CONSERVATIVE" PLAN IS WORKING. And the sheep will continue to religiously go to the polls and put them back in office over and over again.

1. In the Dallas Texas area and attended a "buy foreclosure" |
|
seminar. Foreclosures in 2005 ran about 200/month in Tarrant County. In February there were 400 and there is no decline in sight. HUD will now insure financing on houses up to $200,000 and the HUD rep quipped, "So we'll be seeing some up-scale homes soon . . ."
That's okay, I have it on good authority that our economy is strong and getting stronger. My pRe$ident said so . . .

2. Baby boomers are at the height of earning power. So median |
|
income should be highest than ever. But it isn't.

4. but lots of those baby boomers were laid off or their jobs went |
|
overseas, and they're working for much less than they used to make.
But it seems to me most people's incomes are down, or standing still, which is essentially going down, because everything else is going up up up.

5. Baby boomer here checking in. Job went to China and grey |
|
hair cut interviews real short.
Went from $70,000 with full expense account, paid benefits and shared 401K to, uh nothing for three years. Might turn a profit this year with a 35% federal tax burden on dollar one.

7. Are you better off than you were 6 years ago???? Where's MSM and Dems |
|
Where's that "librul" media and Dems repeating this question over and over again.
When are people going to wake up and realize their 401K has done NOTHING for over 5 years?

8. 401K Ha! I am trying like hell to find a job! |
|
I went on yet another interview this morning...found out that there are no health benefits. Not that I am even being CONSIDERED for the position, as you realize at the end when they say they are interviewing MANY people and will get back to you if they want yet another interview.
I had an interview last Saturday which was 32 miles roundtrip from my house and then they tell me it pays a whopping $8.50/hr.
Save money? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
I am just trying to stay out of foreclosure.

9. Damn.... good luck. The people that have those 401K's though, are |
|
the people that need to wake up. You and I already know where * and his handlers are taking us. But there are many who ARE lucky enough to have had reasonably safe job with 401K's, and they looked at their situation, having worked hard from 2001-2004, saw their wages stagnant, saw their 401K's go down, yet they STILL voted for this bag of incompetence.

11. My stepmother is doing well since my father died |
|
She is insulated from what is happening with her government pension in place. She has no idea what is happening in the world. Although, she did inform me that my brother just was fired from his VP job at a major tech firm.
