Sometimes things are just as they seem...
Sometimes seemingly stupid people are really stupid. Sometimes stupid ideas are really stupid. Sometimes things that look criminal are really criminal. And sometimes what looks like a shady deal is really a shady deal.

3. Exactly. Sometimes A Pile Of Shit Really Is Just A Pile of Shit
I'm amazed at all the posts claiming some sort of Rovian conspiracy. This is a disaster for Chimpy AND all Repubs, regardless of how they might try to use it to distance themselves from Chimpy.

I mean, hell, if that were true, why is McCain SUPPORTING the deal and backing Chimpy? He'd be defector numero uno.

5. what's different this time is the press coverage
this deal isn't really any more corrupt or stupid or hypocritical than any of a hundred stunts they've pulled before in the last 5 years.

what's different is that the press is letting them have it with both barrels, whereas before they would cover up for them.

which brings us back to an earlier point of mine, that shrub is the lamest duck in the west. having no election in his future, all the fixers and handlers and election-manipulators that he relies on for his daily programming have moved on to other campaigns. rove, in particular, i'm sure is more focused on senate campaigns, not to mention his own legal troubles. point is, no one has a singular focus on propping up shrub.

6. And sometimes incompetence is nothing more than incompetence...
Lipstick, earrings, and powder and paint cannot make it look what it ain't....
