Republicans no longer believe in investing in America... |
|
and Democrats do. A useful meme because it's true. Republicans want the totally free flow of capital (preferably to their cronies), no matter the damage to this country. Apparently all Republicans uniformly. We have the foolish DLCers to contend with, but most Democrats want to invest money in our schools, our health, our industries (what's left of them), our security, without wasting billions of dollars in cronyism.

to places like offshore bank accounts in Bermuda, Swiss bank accounts, Euros, gold and other precious medals, foreign stock exchanges, etc.
When's the last time Warren Buffett issued a press release to invest in GM or General Foods, etc.? One day, this county will be barely devoid of capital as it will have fled to greener (pun intended) pastures.

3. Reminds me somewhat of the movie "Rollover" |
|
It was made back in the early eighties, and starred Jane Fonda, Kris Kristofferson, and Hume Cronyn. It involved shady deals with Saudis. It's a pretty good movie, and it certainly seems to be reflecting what's currently happening in the world.

5. Maybe it's because they are making more money selling |

American rather than investing in America.
From their point of view, when something is going down fast, you do not put good money after bad, you sell it for the best price you can get.
America - It's all about the Money.

9. But would you want to? |
|
I think that's always looked more appealing than it turns out to be. Many very rich people spend mountains of money for security and live in justifiable fear of being kidnapped.

you know where the culprits are.
It will be like Europe in the Dark Ages. Castles surrounded by the huddled masses of ignorant and illiterate serfs.
