Tim Russert is a slimey right-wing hack. Only Rethug guests now |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-24-06 02:08 PM by TayTay
This is the line-up for this Sunday's show:
MEET THE PRESS WITH TIM RUSSERT WEEKEND LISTINGS 2/26/06
SEN. JOHN WARNER (R-VA) Chairman, Armed Services Committee
REP. PETER KING (R-NY) Chairman, Homeland Security Committee
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER Governor of California - R
I wrote them this letter:
Don't you people ever interview Democrats!
Three more Republican guests with no Democrats to offset them and their biased views of what is going on in Washington.
Come on guys, at least pretend to try to show that you give a damn about objectivity. This is ridiculous.
I refuse to watch your show or any show on NBC or MSNBC that doesn't reflect an actual balance of opinion in the country. I have had enough.

1. I'll have to send Timmy a thank you note! |
|
Dear Mr. Russert:
I just learned of the lineup for this coming Sunday's MTP. Once again, no Democrats. In fact, rarely do I get to see Democrats and when there are it is usually with two Republicans.
Can you explain why Democrats and Liberal voices aren't jumping at the invitation to be on the show?
As a Liberal and lifelong Democrat, I want to thank you for freeing up another hour of my time on Sunday!
Sincerely, X

bottom line.
Get used to the idea that America's news networks are now the PR departments for their corporate owners and it is incumbent upon them to contribute to the bottom line of the defense industry that signs their paychecks.

3. They should change the name to "Meet the Republicans". |
|
That would be more suiting.

4. The subject is ports, I suspect |
|
Warner doesn't have an issue with it, King is ballistic. Arnie is likely filler.
Actually, Timmy has not been getting the good 'gets' of late---ever since he rolled over and sang about his involvement with the Plame mess, and that story came out, he is PNG with WH. No more Dicks, Condis, or interviews with the Prez, with his obese frame squeezed into a teeny Captain's chair in the WH, balancing his notes on his pudgy knee....he is lucky to have rounded up THAT third rate line up, and only the subject matter persuaded those guys to go on the program.
I also notice he is actually having a JOURNALIST PANEL on a frequent basis once again, like in the old days of MTP, when one actually MET the goddamned PRESS, and got THEIR take on the events of the week. This is more a factor of desperation, and the fact that Timmy is on the outs with the GOP/DC establishment.
Ya can't BE a part of the story, and then try and report on the story, and lie about your involvement to the public, without being regarded as a duplicitous shithead. He's hanging on by his swollen fingers, the weak chinned shit.

5. Sorry, responsible opposing viewpoints are no longer allowed |
|
The only time someone opposing the multiple invasions launched by this bandit administration are allowed on the air is if they supported them in the past. Anyone that was right all along is shut out. I don't know why.

It's a mistake to think that the corporate media supports the neo-liberal project. It is the neo-liberal project. It is the nexus, the confluence, the convergence, the union, the chosen medium of those who have power and money.
IMHO: this statement is absolutely correct. Watch it if you want to keep an eye on what they're up to, but remember what you are watching. There are very few portals of truth remaining. Maybe they keep a few active to make us believe there is hope, as long as it never reaches critical mass.

9. Just caught a glimpse of the new release of "Monty Python" bests |
|
as chosen by the stars . . .
Among the other jabs at the "media", there was one which really highlighted the "liberal" media of today.
Eric Idle played the host of an interview show between two political standpoints . . . the first represented the Government's point of view (as represented by a delegate in an elaborate evening gown), and the opposition (us), represented by a large puddle of unidentifiable brown liquid.
Seems like "fair and balanced" representation of the issues today . . .
