I would be proud to have fred phelps protest at my funeral |
|
I did my time in service to my country. If phelps and his kind showed up with their hate and vitriol protesting my burial because I served to protect the constitutional liberties of homosexuals because they are citizens of this country I would be honored.

They could prop me up in my casket with a shotgun and say I came back from the dead just to kill him. Ill even put that in my will.

3. Actually, I would be enraged if they protested my burial |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-24-06 03:48 PM by Selatius
I would be so enraged that I hope there is enough fury in my soul to partially revivify my remains so that I can kill them with my cold, dead hands.
I'm kidding about the zombie part, but I can't say I would be happy to know somebody wanted to defile my burial.

and I would love have the congregants of Westboro Baptist in attendance. Freddie might get too close to the rail and have a little "accident".
"THIS IS NO DRILL! SMARMY INTOLERANT PRICK OVERBOARD! THIS IS NO DRILL!" "Awww...what a bad time for the 1MC to quit working; and all the ship's rescue gear is down for PM."

Actually I want to be cremated but I haven't decided where I want to be "spread" yet. If phelp's protest is a representation of what I served for then fred, bring it on.
Its as if I protested limbaughs lies and lack of military service and his intense maintenance of the sanctity of marriage. Why of course he would welcome me.

5. You should dedicate your epitaph to him then. |
|
"Dear Fred, after you're gone I'll still be dead."
Oh, and include a middle finger on it that says "Here's my salute to you."

I love and cherish our constitution. It means a great deal to me; so go ahead and protest phelps, you heartless bastard. I'll go out on a limb here but I sincerely doubt protesting at the funerals of Soldiers is what Jesus would do.
Governor Sebelious' picture is framed and prominently displayed in our garage (which I refer to as my furnished and very comfortable doghouse) along with Jayhawk and Wildcat Flags and various and asundry NASCAR paraphernalia. And a shrine to my Alma Mater - The University of Arkansas.

9. Your comfortable doghouse. |

That is pretty funny.
Surely you spend little time in the doghouse unless it is your place of choice.
You just have to let me know the next time you are out this way.

I'm never "in the doghouse" but I do enjoy going out into the garage and enjoying my time. I have a rocking chair and a radio and a Fridge full of beer and that's where I muck about with various projects. And most importantly of all, my wife (A native Kansan) knows where I am. Our travels to Kansas will be published on DU. Have a great weekend my friend.

Your doghouse sounds like a great place to hang and your wife a lovely person. You are both lucky. See you soon I hope.
Great weekend to you too.

12. Your doghouse reminds of that Married with Children episode |
|
Where Al turns his garage into a very nice den and implores the guys not to tell any of the womenfolk. Of course they find out.
I have a copy of the BoR hanging my den right next to a poster of Keith Richards holding a newspaper with the headline "Pope Declares Keith Richards is God."
BTW Shipmate, thanks for doing 24 so I could get away with 2.

When the garage door is open I'm Mr Wilson to all the Dennis the Menace's in the neighborhood. They all want to swing by and share their adventures with "Mr John." My copy of the constitution is steadfastly on duty right next to my shadowbox. Your two years were priceless shipmate.
Is Keith Richards awesome or what? He was my favorite when I was a kid. Now 40 years later he's still my favorite. I look forward to their farewell tour in about 2020.

In fact, I might get in a fight with my brother over who gets to beat their asses first. Either way, they'd get beaten badly. They'd have to attend their next protest in a gurney.
