Politics in the Workplace (Marin County, CA)

I know that many DU'ers work with less than sympathetic folks - in a political sense - and I thought I'd share a couple of pretty cool recent experiences.

I work for a husband and wife team in a store/warehouse specializing in asian furnishings and accesories that they import directly. We had an older gal sales rep in the store the other day who was nattering on about the state of the world today with my 'lady' boss. The rep said "These terrorists, they just hate us for our freedoms". My boss said "You mean Bush and Cheney...I agree!" The rep took her leave with great alacrity for an older gal.

We had an interior designer visit us who was sending some clients in. She warned us that they would be bringing their children. My 'mister' boss replied "That's okay, we let everyone in here...children, dogs (we have a store dog)...even Republicans!"

Hope abounds...somebody in our ridiculously expensive town actually has a brand new Bentley with a Bush-Kerry bumper sticker stuck right on the bumper!

Also, we have the picture of Bush trying to get past the locked door on our safe.

Everyone here is about a hundred years old. I kid you not. There is actually a service where the police will phone older folks who live alone to make sure that they "haven't fallen and cannot get up" their many stairs. We are so hip-replacement central, baby...

It was Kerry/Edwards, of course - and thank you for the correction. Anything else would certainly make the mind reel. Verbose vs. phonics for idiots...Senator vs."I just want to be comminshuner of baseball - whoops, I'm prezident!" Woo-hoo! Let's attack Saddam - is that a video game?
