If Fitzgerald Knows then Why Isn't He Telling Us???
"Former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, charged with perjury in the CIA leak case, cannot be told the identity of another government official who is said to have divulged a CIA operative's identity to reporters, a federal judge ruled Friday. "

1. he's an advocate in the justice system, not a political propagandist
and he's a republican, don't forget

it's not his job to tell us or be publicly acocuntable to us

it's his job to make and prove a legal case.

I'm extremely doubtful that anything other than *maybe* a few libby-esque token fall guys will be affected by any of this.

8. justice frequently moves at a slower pace than might be desired
by partisans

I think he's an excellent prosecutor

I also think the game is rigged. 2000 was a coup.

5. Fitz is not a Republican
He's an independent.

He also runs a very tight ship and does not tolerate leaks.

Sometimes the wheels of justice move too slowly to suit us but they do move. If there is a case to be brought, it will happen.

I rmember one of his statements during his press conference in Novemeber when he was asked about the claims of partisanship. He sort of smalled and said that one day he was called ra right wing hack and the next day he was called a left wing hack and the only theing he did between those too days was sleep.

2. I have lost faith in Fitz
and the whole process. This is just like the Starr investigation. Spend a lot of money and and time and come up with zilch, nada, nothing. I will be tickled if he does but it looks more like an expensive witch hunt than anything.

9. I am really hoping you are wrong
The basis for my hope? The fact that he has proved to be a really good prosecutor, getting the perps of the first WTC bombing prosecuted, convicted and put away.

10. Then you know nothing about how the justice system works
Because Starr and Fitzgerald are like night and day. Fitzgerald is a real prosecutor. Starr never prosecuted a case in his life before his witch hunt into every aspect of the Clinton's lives.

3. Hey, leave him be. Let him keep working.
It ain't over yet. Not by a LONG shot. And WHENEVER it happens, it will be EXTREMELY useful and helpful and strategically delicious to see kkkarl rove somehow distracted or preoccupied with having to save his own ass...

12. Knowing something and being able to legally prove it
are two entirely separate things. And if he brings the charge and doesn't prove it then there are no second chances because of the double jeopardy clause. Best to not name names.

13. you guys are too impatient......
Remember during Libby's indictment, Fitz said he understood that this a frustrating process. And that he imagined that we would want to grab him by his collar and demand that he tell us what he knows. He also said that this is not how the justice system works.

He has to follow a certain procedure. If he does tell us everything he knows, it could jeopardize his case.

I have a lot of confidence in Fitz and I understand that it may take him years to build a solid case. Sure, I still want to know what he knows but if it means he will have a more solid case......I can wait awhile longer.

18. he will tell us...........
...........when he's sure he has a solid case.

Just look at all of the ways Libby is trying to wiggle out of this thing!! Personally, I don't want him to indict anyone unless he can make the charges stick and send these bums to jail for many, many years!!

And I'm sure that's exactly what Fitz wants to do too!

15. And how, praytell...
would Fitz tell "us" anything without Libby finding out? Not to mention, as people have said, he can't. NO prosecuter tips his hand before trial unless he WANTS something to leak out for strategic reasons.

16. Probably b/c he's still putting it all together
He's quite methodical from all we've seen, and not one to wreck a case by jumping the gun. If he hasn't brought someone else to the GJ for an indictment yet, I assume that means he doesn't think he's got all his ducks in a row yet.
