I'm a cricket person: Bush
February 25, 2006 - 10:05AM

US President George Bush said this week "I'm a cricket match person" - and he'll have a chance to show it at a cricket event during his brief upcoming trip to Pakistan.

Details were hard to come by, but White House aides said on Friday that Bush was expected to mingle with cricket-playing children and meet of the sport's professional players during his stop in Pakistan.

It was unclear whether the US president, an avid baseball fan, would bat or bowl.

"It is planned as an opportunity for him to watch and learn a little bit about it. But, you know, who knows what he'll do?" said Bush national security adviser Stephen Hadley. "I have not asked him."

The president himself left no doubt that he'd rather play cricket than see a Bollywood movie, telling reporters on Wednesday that given the choice: "I'm a cricket match person."

"As I understand it, I may have a little chance to learn something about cricket. It's a great pastime," he said.

1. Didn't he also take several days to respond to the Tsunami?
But he got up in the middle of the night to respond to the Terri Schievo "national crisis."

4. Maybe he is going to run a team after 2008
I am sure there will be not one thing growing on his ranch by then, with all his vacations and chopping things down.

7. He stopped by to have Birthday cake w/ McCain.
Then strummed a guitar in California while people were drowning and Brownie was doing a heck of a job. Now Brownie tells us he called and asked for help, but Bush was on vacation and doing fundraisers so he couldn't be bothered by a little weather report.

8. I don't believe for a second that Bush wants "cricket match", this ....

..... trip is a cover for something much bigger. The real question is what is he cooking up with Pakistan now? Him and the Pakistan President are pretty chummy aren't they?? Could it be the Pakistan President will be convinced to bring in Bin Laden all of a sudden? That would certainly get a lot of rethugs back in the pack just in time for the 06 elections. The question is what will the Pakistan President get in return? :tinfoilhat:

With Bush, I NEVER believe anything for what it looks like on the surface and I haven't missed a call too often either.

on edit: Is India due for a civil war? Maybe some American military bases in Pakistan be more useful in the long run. Pakistan is very near Russia aren't they??

10. Well, Nero fiddled while Rome burned.........
....and the Village Idiot played guitar at a fund-raiser while his citizens were drowning by the minute! Both were crazy and crooked.
