Corruption Fatique
Brilliant rovian strategy. We'll just keep fucking up and screwing the taxpayer and getting our kids killed in Iraq and giving money to the likes of halliburton that liberals in America will just throw up their hands and quit. NOT! It is a brilliant strategy in the sense that their ignorant base will now think the actions of today's republican party; graft, corruption, insider trading, racial hate, corporate welfare, religious lunacy and lies are the norm. Their base is too proud and too lazy to consider anything else.

1. Until it directly impacts them. the (repugs)....
when the draft comes they will be oh sooo shocked.....

when they lose their homes and lifesavings due to a catastrophic health event....

When they do wake up it's not going to be pretty...and they have no one to blame but themselves...They will be looking for help when there will be none available.....

4. I honestly believe
that if we you say comes true, "conservatives" will blame liberals as they are programmed to do. That is not going to mitigate their pain but they cannot possibly blame themselves or their heros.

3. They've lost their last issue - terra war - the base is gone.
After the shooting and Ports embroglios, the public is now ready to wave bye-bye to Dead Eye Dick and the Boy King. Fitz can go ahead and issue the sealed indictments now, without real fear of a backlash.

Confidence in the War on Terror has also fallen sharply. - Rasmussen
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/2006/War%20on%20Terror_Monthly_Update.htm
39% Say U.S. Winning War on Terror
36% Say Terrorists Winning

February 27, 2005--Just 39% of Americans now believe the U.S. and its allies are winning the War on Terror. That's down from 42% earlier this month and from 44% in January. With just one exception, this is the lowest level of confidence ever measured by Rasmussen Reports.

Even more dramatic is the fact that 36% now believe the terrorists are winning. That's up five points over the past two weeks and up ten points since our January survey.

A plurality of women and a majority of Democrats now believe the terrorists are winning.

5. Did they get their date wrong?
It says 2005 but from the story it looks like it was supposed to be 2006.

6. Corruption?? in DC?? Oh everyone knows they are all corrupt
I wouldn't call it BRILLIANT but sometimes you use what it left to you and in this case that is hoping that none of it sticks exclusively to the Republicans (remember a year ago all the talk was about 30 years of Repub rule) and of course protect W. Actually Rove would throw W into the gears if it would make the machine work better, the only loyalty is to loyalty at any cost.

First- if there are any really convictions they would blow any of the plans Rove has now out of the water. Some of this "Everyone does it" excuse is meant to cover for W's legacy (later he will be ripped apart by historians) but it won't cover for hard convictions. W wouldn't enjoy the kind of cover that Reagan got- NO ONE is Reagan.

Second- in the cruelest of fate twists Rove suffers a Rovian attack. His "genius" has always been to attack the opponents strength (that and not having the civility not to masturbate in public) and what is W's greatest strength? K.I.S.S Keep It Simple Stupid. With the media willing to read anything fed to them Rove has kept it real short and real simple

Tax cuts
Us or them
With us or against us
Until the job is done

unfortunately now the offenses are very simple too.
