Sen. Clinton Says Rove Obesses About Her

Sen. Clinton Says Rove Obesses About Her

By MARC HUMBERT, AP Political Writer
1 hour, 1 minute ago

ALBANY, N.Y. — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that President Bush's chief political strategist Karl Rove "spends a lot of time obsessing about me."

The former first lady and potential presidential contender was reacting during a radio interview to a new book quoting Karl Rove as saying she will be the 2008 Democratic nominee for president,

"He spends more time thinking about my political future than I do," Clinton said, noting that Rove and other White House aides have met regularly with her possible opponents in November's 2006 Senate race.

The junior Senator from New York said she believed Rove, Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman and other Republicans are focusing on her to divert attention from Republican problems as the 2006 congressional elections approach.

19. I would suppose that his soul is evil, dark and hate-filled.
But what is a soul? Or how would you describe a soul in the case of a rock? Or a human or the leaf of a tree for that matter.

That's the best I can come...and I would think the tree rather than the leaf would be the watcher, but who knows. I'm just postulating.

Have your aides/media-guys deal with the prick. There is nothing to be gained by her sinking to that shithead's level.

"Rove also says he does not believe Clinton can win the general election, in part, because there is a "brittleness about her." That seems to mirror recent comments by Mehlman that Clinton "seems to have a lot of anger" and that Americans don't elect angry presidential candidates."

What brittleness? She sure fell apart when her husband had to admit cheating on her, and she nearly broke into a million pieces during her Senate campaign, and, true, she could barely stand upright at Coretta Scott King's funeral. But other than that I can't think of one other event...

Oh, sorry, forgot the senseless Whitewater BS, the death of Vince Foster (where she was a suspect in their eyes) and I'm sure if I wait, I can thing of a bunch more. But I'm just gonna post. No matter what you think of Hillary, or your beliefs about why she's being played up by the Repugs, brittle is not a word which applies here.

p.s. Hey, Ken! I'll take angry before stupid.

ed: clarity

17. She's right, you know.
The Repugs are totally obsessed with the Clintons. Clinton was the most conservative Dem president ever and the neocons foam at the mouth about him.

I hope Hillary is doing a Rope-a-Dope. Take the heat, Hillary. Let everybody talk about her as a candidate for 2008. Never declare, never deny. Let 'em bash her. She's a tough cookie, and a damned fine Senator.

20. Of course he's obsessed with her - she's a Clinton
Nothing gets under GOP skin like a Clinton. Well, actually, that's not quite true. What really gets under their skin isn't the Clintons themselves - it's knowing that no matter how much mud they fling, people love the Clintons. That's what galls them. It's knowing that if Bill could run again, he'd be elected. It's fearing that the same is true of Hillary. They've won (ok, stolen) the WH twice since BC was in office. They think we should have long ago switched our affection to them. There's a very strong and unsavory undercurrent of a jilted suitor here.

25. It's Babs that KKKarl obsesses over (Mark Morford) :
-- "Karl sneaks furtive glances at Barb. He is awed by her natural power, her girth, her effortless cunning. That teal makes her look so ... so ... seaworthy. He wants her. Badly. She knows it. They have a secret thing -- it is matronly and sweaty and creepy as hell and takes place every other Sunday in a Ritz-Carlton just off the Beltway..."
