1. very true!
And the best part of this is they cannot grasp how much their base is against this. They keep digging themselves in deeper and deeper.

6. Oh, they do know it, and they also know they can only Diebold around
the margins. If they can't keep the polling numbers within five points, there will be blood in the streets if they try it.

A few interesting remarks by that crowd of late:

CAMBRIDGE, Md. — "We are in trouble."

Rep. Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) made that comment a week ago, discussing his party's political fortunes. And his remark aptly summarized the attitude here Friday at a gathering of House Republicans.

In years past — especially since President Bush took office — these annual retreats have been celebratory affairs, with Republicans reveling in their success and plotting an aggressive legislative agenda.

This meeting, however, was marked by anxiety and uncertainty. The GOP House members, fresh from a leadership battle within their ranks, are divided over how the party should respond to ethics scandals roiling Capitol Hill..... http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-retreat11feb11,0,3735940,full.story?coll=la-headlines-nation

3. Drop the gratuitous bullshit Kerry Bash and I'll agree with you

Bush was always the real flip-flopper. Rove just took the worst qualities of Bush and projected them on Kerry.

Remember how for example, Zell and Bush said that Kerry would "outsource our national security?"
