Out of (IL6th) district $$$: Duckworth 3%, but SURPRISE Cegelis 78%
According to today's Chicago Sun-Times 97% of Tammy Duckworth's money came from outside of district, with her only reporting two weeks worth of contributions its not surprising. However I was shocked by the fact that 78% of Cegelis money came from outside of the district. Given the way that Cegelis supporters want to bitch and moan about how much of Duckworth's money comes from outside of the district I would like to know where they draw the line? Is over 78% acceptable, but 97% is not? While I would love to see Tammy get more money from within the district (I think her 1st qtr numbers will show an increase with in district money), I just find it hypocritical for her to be criticized by Cegelis supporters when Christine also gets over 3/4's of her money from outside of the district.

2. I don't think there is any thing wrong with how much $$$ Cegelis gets from
out of district supporters, I just want those who would criticize Duckworth for her supporters being out of district won't be hypocritical.

4. Of course, Duckworth had a national following
before she got in the race...her testimony before Congress made headlines all around the country....

5. I'm not sure what I said in post #2 but I meant to say:
Is that I want Cegelis supporters who criticize Duckworth for out of district money without criticizing Christine to realize they are being hypocritical.

Out of district support for Duckworth = establishment Dems

Out of district support for Cegelis = "grassroots"

Geez, didn't you get the memo from the Politburo yet? :eyes:

11. Its interesting
Its interesting that we are not hearing from a lot of Cegelis supporters about this? A significant amount of her money is coming from outside of the district. She is the ALLEGED candidate of the grassroots, however one must wonder who's grassroots? With the PDA and DFA supporting her and 75% plus of her money coming from outside of the district, her campaign manager being a PDA operative from Arizona, how do we know that she is not beholden to the PDA and DFA as opposed to the voters of the 6th district? As Arsenio Hall used to say "things that make you say hmmmmmmmm". Its seems some of the beating Duckworth has taken for outside support is kind of misplaced, when she is not the only one who has it.

13. It's the source of the money....
and I love the way you guys misrepresent the issue.

Cegelis is getting mostly grassroots support. Tamny D is getting big name, big money, big party support.

Twist and turn, twist and spin.
